Exactly what I was looking for
I am an avid climber who spends alot of time in the outdoors, but that's not why I bought this bottle. I purchased this (two in fact) for use at home and office so that I would drink more water throughout the day. I am giving them five stars because they fit the bill exactly for that need. They keep the water nice and cold, and since I purchased these I am doing a much better job of staying hydrated throughout the day. Because the water is always cold and refreshing, I tend to walk over and refill each time it's empty. Gone are the days of knocking over my nalgene bottle and drowing papers on my desktop, or leaving water rings due to a sweating bottle. Storage capacity is small, but I like that as it's less overwhelming than the quart bottles I used to use. I have also begun to carry an Eddy bottle on walks and short hikes with my wife. I just dangle the bottle from the finger loop as I stroll. I have had zero problem with the bite valve leaking on me while drinking. I don't bother taking the bottles when I head to the woods to climb. At those times I need large capacity and don't care about the water being ice cold, so I stick with my hydration bladder or larger, uninsulated Kleen Kanteen bottles. For my intended use, this bottle fits the bill perfectly.
Great for the commute!
I got this for my commute in Seattle, which involves Light Rail and 4 miles daily walking. If I remember to put cold water in the fridge the night before, I usually use this bottle on the trip home when it's warm out, and the water stays cold, even 11 hours after filling the bottle. I've had a plastic CamelBak bottle for 5 years now and that is fine for hiking - more conveniant that a traditional screw cap bottle to drink from. The only minor issue with this Eddy is the draw tube (or straw) - if it isn't pushed into the cap all the way, it is blocked at the bottom of the bottle. I ended up trimming 1/8" off the tube and have had no issues since.
My boyfriend bought this camelback water bottle for me. I have only had it for a few days, but I love it! I went to class today and forgot my bottle in the car.It was 90 degrees outside the car, so it was like 100 degrees in the car. When I went to drink it the bottle itself was hot, but the water inside was ice cold and refreshing. It had been in the hot car for 2hrs!!! I have already dropped it twice without a dent or scratch. The only thing I was disappointed about was the color. It was a darker shade of blue than the picture, but I still love it and will be using it for years to come!!!
I replaced a very old CamelBak plastic bottle with this one and couldn't be happier. As others have stated it's simply amazing how long this keeps your water cold. I have put ice cubes in at 6AM on the way to my son's baseball tournament and by 3PM the water is still ice cold and the ice cubes have not completely melted. I drink much more water when it's cold and this fits the bill perfectly. Since it's metal, it will scratch up a bit more than plastic but so far it's holding up nicely.
This is a great water bottle that I hope to use for years to come. Very solid construction; does not leak at all. Even better, it does not sweat. I filled it with ice at 8am and have filled it with water about 4 times--still have a TON of ice left! It took me a while to figure out/like the bite and sip thing, but other than that, I love this thing!
High quality product
The stainless steel Eddy will keep ice cubes even when left in a hot car all day. The bite valve is flawless. When backed with Camelbak's and REI's guarantees, this water bottle is about as close as you can come to perfect.
I bought this and filled with ice and water the first day I bought it, and ended forgetting it at home. To my surprise after being inside a hot apartment for 11 hours it still have full ice cubes inside!!!
Keeps it cold for hours. Had one before and lost it. Had been trying to find a similar one, and nothing cut it close.
PERFORMED AS ADVERTISED!!!
Worked very well on our hiking trip. Kept water cold and is very durable.
keeps temperature for hours
