Worth it despite annoyances

I keep one at work, one for home/car and one at the gym. (I use CamelBak bladders for hiking). Love these bottles in both sizes & have had several (I used to "lose" them until I started getting them in obnoxious colors; guess I'm not the only one who likes them!) I had one where the bite valve broke, and one that leaked around the lid - but to be fair it got dropped. A lot. Newer ones have not had the problems other reviewers noted unless you turn them upside down w/ the mouthpiece open. I do not have any issue getting the mouthpiece up w/ one hand

I find the loop great for carrying or attaching to my work backpack w/ a carabiner

I don't have a dishwasher & hated that the mouthpieces got gross & were tough to clean, until I found a baby's sippy cup cleaning brush - works perfectly on the mouthpiece (the CamelBak brushes do not work). I agree w/ the reviewer who complained about lipstick sticking; guess Camelbak doesn't expect us to be in lipstick required situations w/ their products!

Great product, despite leaks.

I used this for a year while leading hikes pretty much all day, everyday, and it was great. I love the fact that it's dishwasher safe. I would pop it in with all my other dishes and it would be completely clean without becoming distorted. It does leak occasionally, but it partly happened as a result of the straw not being completely inserted into the mouth piece on the inside of the bottle. It also leaked from the lid, where it meets the bottle, and I never quite figured out why that would happen. It was very inconsistent in that regard; one day it was leaking, the next it was fine. Still loved it and overall, it's a great bottle.

Amazing Water Bottle

This product has made me start drinking water. Before I owned this, I drank primarily juices and sodas other than when I played sports or did exercise. Now that I own this water bottle, I drink a ton of water and feel a lot better. I can't say enough about how durable, easy to use, and enjoyable this product is. I never though I could be so passionate about drinking water.

Had to exchange

So far, I've owned 2 Camelbaks: The first, being the Better Bottle; the second, the Eddy. The Better Bottle leaked after just 2 weeks, while the Eddy has lasted 4 months. I don't know if I dropped it or what happened, but the Eddy started leaking constantly, to the point that I can't take it anywhere unless it's sitting upright. Definitely exchanging it for another one; hopefully third time's the charm!

Daily staple!

I got this water bottle for Christmas 2012 and while at the time I felt it was a random gift I literally take this everywhere. Over year later it's still in great condition and a reminder to keep hydrated. I can understand it's not best capacity for remote long distance activity and better serves for casual everyday use.

Best design ever!

I've used an Eddy for 2 yrs (always in the car for on-the-go hydration) and when I forgot it in the plane recently, I didn't hesitate to replace it. The fold-down bite valve is the coolest most inventive feature of any water bottle on the market. It's by far my most favorite!

Camelbak eddy water bottle 25 fl. oz.

I use this water bottle every day and have been very pleased. It doesn't have leaking problems like most water bottles and fits into my backpack easily with the slim design. I would recommend this product.

Great Bottle

We bought two of these bottles for everyday use.

There have been no leaks, as reported by others, and these bottles get used everyday.

Read the directions... Hand Wash Only

Easy to carry and keep with you.

Since getting this bottle in an effort to be more green, I have been carrying it around everywhere and drinking much more water in my normal day.

Great for a gift

I have one and bought this for my wife and she loves it!

Negative Reviews:

CamelBak Eddy

I bought two of these for cycling last year. They work decently for that purpose but have been relegated to home use since I discovered you can fit a regular old plastic 1L in most bottle cages. Carries more while weighing less, and is almost free. The only thing I miss is the straw.

The bottles themselves have proven to be indestructable enough: On multiple occassions its hit the cement at speed only to be scuffed up a bit. The caps less so: While mine do not leak, one of the bite valves does not stay down anymore. A minor annoyance, I guess. I dislike that the valves are so exposed, even while locked down into the cap.

Excellent bottle if it didn't leak.

I love this bottle until it starts leaking. I have had three now and each one of them have started leaking after about 6 months. This makes me quite frustrated as I live overseas and cannot get one replaced until summer. This leaky design really needs to be fixed. Also, if you sip on it with lip gloss, it is very hard to get the lipgloss off. I use this bottle all of the time (at work and play) and I have found this also to be rather annoying. I hope something will be done soon as it is a great concept.

Looks nice but too many problems

I use the bottle for car camping. It has good capacity but there's too much I don't like about it. If the bottle lays on its side, it leaks through area around the mouthpiece. It does it just slowly enough that you only realize you're soaked after you get up. Drinking through the mouthpiece is very slow because the water flow rate through it is low. The teat accumulates mildew unless you're careful about removing it when not in use. That's no problem in storage, but on a long trip it becomes an issue. Loss of the teat seems inevitable.

Not as good as other CamelBak bottles

One-handed usage? Yeah right. I've owned other camelbak bottles that are much easier to open. On other camelbak bottles, the tab that flips the spout open is rigid plastic. On the "Eddy", this tab is made of the same silicone as the mouthpiece, which makes it too flexible to easily flip the spout. I have to fight with the bottle every time I want it to open.

Flip Up Valve Breaks

I've owned two of these bottles. Not sure if the versions I had were called the "Eddy" since the current description says it has a redesigned valve, but in both cases after approximately 1 year of daily use the flip-up valve stem broke, causing it to leak. I like the design and if I could replace just the valve I would do so.
seven8nine at REI on 01/01/2013

Warranty not all that was promised.

We have several of the predecessor "Better Bottle" several times we replaced straws that cracked and every time we were sent the wrong straws. Appears that after they change the design you will not be able to get parts for the previous model. Good for the gym but bottle will leak if left on its side.
MGarnsey at REI on 02/02/2013

NOT spill-proof

I bought 3 of these bottles, and all 3 leaked. The mouthpiece also breaks easily when dropped. The bottle is nice aesthetically, but it just isn't good functionally.
Bizebo at REI on 03/03/2012

Leaks when not upright!

This bottle works fine if conscientiously kept upright, but will leak while horizontal and NEVER safe to put in a backpack with expensive electronics!

Nozzle leaks a few drops from base on inversion....dribble down your shirt. Returning product.

As Expected

I needed a slimmer bottle than my standard Nalgene, and while this CamelBak works well, I find it takes too much effort to get more than just a sip. But it let you hydrate, so it serves its purpose. Easy to clean and sturdy.
