CamelBak Omega Reservoir Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

SUPER convienient delivery, little difficult to clean well, compatible with most packs

If you don't have one of these by now you are out of your mind.Or maybe you're just new to hydration stystems. You may be thinking "I really like my camelbak bottle and want something more convenient for my bike ride to the mall."Or something entirely different.I can't say. However,I can tell you what you will be thinking after you get this system."How did I survive with out this!"Seriously though, the only issue I have is scrubbing the little corners out.I bought the actual cleaning kit but if you have better skills than me you may not need it.(My friends who do golf make mojitos and take it in here.I don't recommend it,everything WILL taste minty for a long time no matter how good you clean.)

best invention ever

If you have not yet gone to Camelbaks you are missing out. They are the best thing since sliced bread. Durable- never leak and last forever. Large- enough water until the next pit stop. Easy to fill- unscrew, fill, and screw back on. Easy to use- biking, skiing, backpacking, just put it in the pack that works best for the occasion. I could go on and on but you'd be bored. The only thing I have a gripe with is that they are hard to dry out- I hang mine upside down over a rack in my kitchen but there is still residual water left occasionally. But overall I am happy and would buy this reservoir again in a snap!

sweet resivoir!

Recently got it in the 100oz size. Am pumped to get to use it a lot next summer out at the crag. It holds a ton of water (not literally). Its but but hey, You don't have to fill it up all the way! It was only a little bit more than the others so i though i'd spring for it. Works Great! I have a Northface Terra 55 backpack and it fits great inside it. Tastes fine to me. You've gotta think, you get to carry three liters of water around with you in one single container! out of the way! Great thing!no complaints

full bladders fill bladders. can't go wrong with camelbak

you're selling your hydration compatible pack short if you don't have one of these. quick and easy hydration on the move makes a world of difference on the trails. as far as the reservoir itself goes, there's not a whole lot going on. solid build - never leaks and condensation is minimal, so your goods stay dry. the major advantage with the omega is the wide mouth opening, which makes filling and cleaning the bladder tons easier than some of the other reservoirs out there, which can be quite difficult to get into. i suggest also picking up the CamelBak Flow Meter

A Must Have.

I don't know why it took me so long to get this. I've been hiking for a long while and using a smaller reservoir and chancing running out of hydration on the trails. This CamelBak left me feeling completely secure that I would have sufficient water. Plus, the cap is super easy to twist on and off, and it fits right into my daypack. It didn't take very long at all to ship, which was good, because I've been using it very regularly. Excited to continue to do so!

The only Hydro pack!

I've used an omega 100oz for years until I finally put a hole in it. I just ordered another one from moosejaw and I expect it to last many years to come. Fits perfect in my backpack and I add an attachment to the bite valve so I can hook up my MSR water filter to it and fill it up without taking it out of my pack. I love the omega!

Fantastic!

Simply...it's sooo easy to use!! Simply was it out a few times, fill it up, but it in your Pack and your good to go. The bag is made to last wear and tear for years. I have had mine for only a few months but it still looks like new after dozens of uses. Holds plenty of water for all of your adventures!

Wife is happy!

This is the third one I have bought. Need I say more?! This one is for my wife who just got a new day pack and didn't have a reservoir. She is picky about not only function but taste of the water and she is pleased!

Durable Reservoir

This thing is rock solid. No problems with this thing squished in my 65 liter pack for a long weekend. Easy to use, great accessories, and the plastic taste was gone after a few washes. Definitely a great reservoir you can use and not worry about.

Neutral Reviews:

does its job, but tastes gross

i brought this on a 4 day backpacking trip. the first few sips of filtered creek water tastes great, but after a few hours hike, it starts to taste like plastic. another reviewer said that it washes out after a while. i'm still waiting for that to happen. a moosejaw representative suggested putting in a tiny bit of mouth wash. we'll see how that helps. i got the 70 oz one and it doesn't quite hold that much water. i hold the pack with the black tab and fill it, so it only really goes up to the bottom of the big circle. the big mouth is good, but the screwing mechanism doesn't always align correctly.

Decent, But Flawed

This is a good water carrier, and is durable without being too heavy. My main complaint, though, is that it's difficult to dry out properly. The new design of CamelBak, the Antidote (perhaps the antidote to my complaint?) seems like it will fix this, but right now it is hard to prop open for proper drying. The Platypus brand of bags are more light-weight, so if that's a concern, look there. Personally, my next purchase will be a CamelBak Antidote, as I hope the easily disconnecting tubes and the arms to hold the bag open will fix my complaints.
