Keep it out

I walked into a sporting goods store and found this item. It was just what I was looking for. As an umpire for youth softball games the ablility to have a source of hydration near by is essential. However where or how do you carry enough water without becoming an obstruction in the field of play? Solution was met with this adapter, I can hang a water bottle outside of the fence and still access the water when I need a drink without having to enter a team dugout and weaving in and out of players entering or leaving the area. This makes it look professional and keeping the water bottle out of the play. I have heard of people using a pack on the fence but it may obscure a fans view. I would encourage the use of this item when hands need to be free. I occationally hike short treks and a water bottle will meet my needs. A bottle packed in my waist pack will keep my hands free.

Camelbak Hands Free Bottle Adapter

This is great as it allows me to keep my water bottles in their holder on the side of my lumbar pack or backpack and not have to take them in/out each time I need a drink. The bottles sit kind of far back on both packs, so it becomes a logistical challenge to reach back there and put them in or ask someone else if they can do it for me while hiking. The tube is long enough to provide hydration for either type of pack. I am thrilled that they created this "add on"! I absolutely love the hands-free feature it provides. You do need to make sure that you invest in the tube brush to keep it clean. I have had no problem w/ mold or odor and I primarily drink ice tea or water with it and clean it with Dawn & a rinse of vinegar.

FINALLY !!!!

I've only been after Camelbak about this for two years....I am glad to see it finally make it into production. It allows me to use the Camelbak bottles and not have to bring them directly to my lips.

(Yeah I know you might say: "why not just wear a camelbak ?", but while doing paddle sports, having that on my back and the straps over my shoulders can be uncomfortable and unbalanced...the bottle with the hose is a better solution. I had built a couple of my own...but without a valve to let air in...it doesn't work well. THIS IS THE solution !)

The only thing that would make it better is if the connection to the bottle were a little more secure (i.e. screw in).

Overall I am very happy with what they have done.

Know your water supply!

I do a lot of desert hiking, and I have a real problem with hydration packs: I can't really tell how my water supply is holding out. I have had a few occasions where I have consumed far more water than I thought I had used, and it had become a constant frustration on longer hikes.

I use this tube and several one-liter bottles on longer desert hikes, where I may be away from water for several hours at a time. The advantage is that I know whenever I go through a liter of water, so I always have a pretty good idea of where my water supply stands. It works much better for me than a hydration bladder, and I no longer find myself running short before I get to my next water stop.

Great Product

Had a bladder and hydration tube....both
leaked. Didn't want a bladder again so
got the Camelbak Better....love it. The
hydration tube is much easier to drink
from than my old one which means I'll
probably not bite a hole in this one!

Good Hydration is for Everyone

I take care of my Wife who has been paralyzed since 2005. We have successfully incorporated this system into our required hydration program, and it is much easier for her to use than the glass and straw method.

Super addition to my camelbak fanny pack

I have a 50oz camelbak fanny pack which works well in fall & winter but as the weather gets hotter I need to pack more water. A 32oz camelbak water bottle with this adapter is perfect

Negative Reviews:

Waste of money

Thought this would be a great accessory to my Camelbak bottle, but the tube will not stay on the bottle. It keeps popping off and dragging on the ground. What a waste of money, not to mention the constant stopping to twist the tube back on the bottle, only to have it pop off again in a few minutes.
