The Camelbak M.U.L.E. has been called "The premier mountain bike hydration system." That's a pretty bold claim, but then when you look at how long Camelbak has been making the M.U.L.E. it kinda makes sense. My first Camelback was an original M.U.L.E. thirteen years ago, and they've only gotten better in that time. There's more than enough space to haul anything you'll need up or down the trail, and with a three liter bladder you couldn't ask for much more.

Receiving rave reviews year after year, CamelBak's M.U.L.E. is the top seller amongst Mountain Bikers. This premier system integrates increased cargo capacity with our latest technical features, such as the OMEGA Reservoir and Air Director back panel.

New favorite thing! | |

| I am new to hydration systems in general and Camelbak specifically. But I bought this for my first real hiking trek because I reasoned that if I were going anywhere that I needed to pack extra water then I should be bringing appropriate supplies for the journey as well. This bag was fantastic for both needs! The water was easy to fill and came out with no aftertaste. I was able to carry a first aid kit, snack and various small extra supplies (things off of the 10 essentials list basically) that are good to have for hiking. I stored my safety/emergency supplies in the outermost pocket, put my snacks in the larger compartment along with my extras, and used the in-between gap area for maps. The strap system was perfect. I finished the hike extremely pleased with this bag! My outdoor enthusiast friends and hiking group members really like this pack too! It's one of the best purchases that I have ever made. The only possible downside is that it can be a little bulky, but that can be remedied with smart packing by filling it with compact versions of items and positioning them flatly within the bag. Bottom line: it's well designed and useful!. : ) | |

Durable product | |

| This was my Christmas gift to myself this year. I choose last years colors over the current ones because I am using this as a Desert bak for dirtbiking out in the desert. This holds plenty of water for a 2-3 hour ride, which is great because I get dehydrated easily. This product is also very durable. It has taken to impact of acouple large falls and has saved my back from injury. The only thing was remotely damaged was the mouth peice shooting off from impact, but no worries it slides right back on. The waist straps could also be slightly wider for comfort purposes. I did not find the stock hose nessesary to have an elbow at the mouthpeice. So instead I purchased the hose director which works as a great replacement and also keeps the water in the hose cool between drinks. | |

Great Combination of Comfort & Features

| I do a lot of 40-75 mile day rides, and a several 5-7 day bike tours (camping) annually. With a hydration pack I drink more frequently, and can comfortably carry much more fluid than the two bottles the cages on my bikes can accommodate. The M.U.L.E. holds a lot of fluid, but also has enough space for my keys, phone, wallet, tools, snacks, meds, pump, spare clothing, and the like. With the waist belt cinched and the sternum strap snugged up its is very stable. Even when loaded I don't notice the weight. The only drawback I have encountered is greater sweat retention on my back. The pack limits the airflow of course, and so evaporation is slower. Since I am usually wet with sweat anyway I don't consider this a serious problem. | |

| very sturdy, very good, and it looks a bit different than in the picture. it's a bit small, but it's totally worth it. though for some strange reason, they're now charging [$]for it when i got it it was only [$]. anyways, i really recomend it for hikers, and mountain bikers, commuters and anybody else who enjoys the smart MULE on their backs, its pretty heavy when full, but it's excellently designed so you don't really feel the weight that much when its on your back and you properly adjusted the straps. so overall, really superb! | |

The best Camelbak product!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| By far the best camelbak hydration pack. i got the pervious version of this hydration pack but it had 449 cubic inches of space. that why i got this one. With 600 cubic inches they're lots of room for tools, a bike pump, or layers. I used this pack for Mountain biking in Yosemite and it i fell 2 times. Good thing i was wearing my mule. it cushioned the impact on my back! Anyways it's the best hydration pack on the market. If you like to go mountain biking this pack is for you. | |

Better than bottles | |

| Prior to purchasing the Camelbak "MULE" I used to buy countless water bottles, and either refill them or lose them on the trails. This is by far the best thing I have bought this year. Take Camelbak's advise prior to long hikes or hitting trails, fill it a third of the way with water, lay it flat in the freezer overnight ( ensure the tube is empty ), then fill it in the morning. It will remain cold all day. | |

"great for mountain biking"
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I have this and use it for mountain biking. It is very useful. It has many storage areas for tools, parts, first aid..etc. Also holds plenty of water! Possibly too much water for just a few hours of biking. Cons: When it is full of water, it can get kind of heavy while mtn biking. My arms tended to get sore first couple times, but then started only filling it up halfway, which seemed to work a lot better. | |

"Used the MULE for years and I love it!"

| I bought the mule a few years ago (it had a different look then) and it have withstood some serious beating. It´s perfect for some extra tubes and tools for your mountain bike and a rain jacket. Or some food and gear for Geocaching. And it fits very nice when you are out running for a longer period of time. | |
