Camillus Les Stroud Arctic Fixed-Blade Knife Reviews:

Good knife, ok sheath

I really like this knife. I used it all week elk hunting in Colorado. Very comfortable handle and a very sharp knife out of the box. I am a fan of Les Stroud and this is why I originally bought the knife, and I am glad I did. The only issue I have is with the sheath. I wish the knife had more than just a velcro strap holding it in. I actually modified the sheath by adding a piece of para cord and a pinch button (see buck punk knife sheath as an example). I picked the non-ser blade and wish they had that option in the mountain knife model too. I would give this five stars if the sheath was better. I hope Les and or Camillus are reading these reviews as I think almost every review I have read on many websites have issues with the arctic model sheath. Hopefully they will offer an updated sheath as I would order one.

4 Stars****

This isn't the greatest knife I've ever used but with the way if fits in your hand so comfortably and how sharp it came out of the box I'd be stupid to give this knife 3 stars!
After skinning my moose (& with all that entails), i did have to put a new edge on it before skinning the head out. but thats fine, a moose is a big animal!
I wish the sheath strap was a button instead of velcro
but i can put one on myself if the velcro gives out. The Flint stick that fits in it's own compartment in the sheath is just a bonus!! Definitely a decent knife. i don't think Les Stroud would endorse a piece of junk. I LIKE IT!
