A combination of the alpinist's two most important assets: strength and low weight. T-rated for rugged terrain, the forged NiCrMo steel head ensures maximum durability for the pick and adze. The 7075 aluminium alloy single-curve bent shaft with an aggressive steel spike offers a maximum range of comfortable positions for posting and anchoring. Two rivets and a nylon cap create a solid and hardwearing connection between the head and shaft. Textured handgrip reduces sliding on the shaft. Equipped with standard alpine leash.

Good strong light general ice axe

For a T rated axe this is light, well balanced and does the job well. Got 65cm for walking and general moutaineering and used for belaying on easy to mod snow slopes performed well and seems to be built strong enough to take a battering.

Solid axe

This is a nice mountaineering axe with a terrible leash. The leash just doesn't work very well, it always twists up and it doesn't fold over the top of the axe in a nice way. Passing the axe from your hands side to side doesn't feel very solid either. I've used it in some "test" self arrests and it dug in nicely and it's easy to grip. There really isn't enough weight in it to chop steps very easily, but people hardly do that anymore anyway. I've used it for Mt. Washington, some winter 14'ers, and will probably take it to Bolivia with me.
