When Campagnolo deposes their king, they move him gently into retirement. Generally, he fades away as offerings are improved and refined. However, when you look at the new Campagnolo Record 11 Rear Derailleur, you're looking at the 2010 Super Record part in everything but name. It's also seven grams lighter.
The reduced weight is due to two small elements. One is the lighter, more sophisticated two-piece bolt fixing bolt. It's made of hard anodized aluminum. The second is an aluminum pinch-bolt for the derailleur cable. Otherwise, it's the same carbon-fiber outer parallelogram plate and pulley cage, the same anodized aluminum upper and lower body pieces, the same ceramic bushing upper pulley and ceramic bearing lower pulley; the pulleys are the same soft rubber compound.
The Campagnolo Super Record 11 Rear Derailleur is designed to work with Campagnolo 11-speed cogs and chains and Ultra-Shift Ergopower levers. The maximum cog size is 29 teeth. Please Note: The fixing bolt takes a Torx T25 driver rather than the traditional 5mm hex wrench.
