Canada Goose Heli-Arctic Parka -
When Canada Goose designed the men's Heli-Arctic Parka to meet the very special needs of commercial helicopter pilots, the list of requirements was extensive but the results were impressive. The slim-fitting thigh-length design offers comfortable mobility in and out of the cockpit, while the clean appearance ensures that seatbelts won’t get caught on anything. The Heli-Arctic has all the iconic design elements that Canada Goose is known for such as, 625 fill power white duck down insulation, a two-way tunnel hood with removable coyote fur ruff, a cozy high-pile fleece-lined chin guard, double-reinforced elbows and shoulder-grab safety straps.  It also has two lower snow pockets with Velcro flaps, three interior pockets for safe gear storage and two fleece-lined outer hand warmer pockets which provide warmth for cold fingers. For the ultimate in added warmth, this parka also includes two mesh kidney pouches with Grabber air-activated biodegradable warmers provide a shot of heat where it’s needed.

Love this parka

This Heli Arctic Parka is toasty. I moved to Minnesota (from NYC) last year and here in MN we saw 15 below for a few weeks - a first for me. I was severely under-dressed for for my new "ice shanty" adventures here in MN. So as the cold weather recently moved in - I just bought this parka. Hate to say it - but I felt like Kenny from South Park - which is actually quite cool - though not very "slimming" ;-) (I scared my two cats when I zipped up the fur lined hood and walked around like BigFoot!) This is a comfy parka - I think you could wear this to top of Mount Everest - but it has a more sensible & cleaner style IMHO (without all the extra goofy pockets and doo-dads on the front that the CG Expedition line has, for example). Has inner mesh pockets to add chemical "heat packs" (e.g. comes with 2) to keep your innards/tush extra toasty - critical I guess when it goes to 40 below. I am ready this for winter. Got the large size in red. Bring it on - dear mother nature!

Simply the warmest

The fit on a female:
3XS (men's size) fits a 5'-5" Female XS (0-2) very well, but be warned, you'll look like a huge marshmallow, albeit a warm one. It hits me just above the knees, which protects my thighs nicely, and with snow boots, minimal leg is left exposed. Arm length is perfect and there is room inside to fit a thick sweater.

One gripe I had was how difficult it was to adjust the hood properly. The neck of the coat would have zipped past my lips and above my nose (I even have a long neck), so closing the coat was not an option. the hood sort of flopped around my head when gusts of wind hit me, and at one point it blew off. There is a buckled that you can adjust the depth of the hood, but that was too difficult to do in the middle of a storm with gloves on. I wound up holding the rim of the hood in place.

Otherwise, this is a lovely coat. It was incredibly toasty, water and wind proof. Also, I love the HUGE pockets. Keys, cellphone, goggles, gloves all fit!

Exactly as advertised

This parka does exactly what it says it will. The fit is perfect for wearing over multiple layers. Details are well thought out and clearly reflect years of use under real, harsh field conditions. May be too much if you are not using it in serious cold or if you are engaged in active/aerobic activities. Used it recently on a camping trip out of Ely with lows of -31F and highs of -7F and it performed extremely well.

The Best Parka

The best parka out there. Better than any other brand. Heavy duty, extremely well made, well designed and thought out. When its really cold out, this is the one. However, its not the best when its just cold, sloppy rainy. This is a true Artic Parka---heavy and warm

Best Buy for the Money

This is a great coat, best buy for the money. You won't find a better coat unless you up grade to the top of the line Mantra. This coat you could stand in an arctic blast and wouldn't feel a thing. Great Coat!

Forget fashion; wear this coat to stay !

I'm a woman with wider hips; the men's coat fits great. I can wear a short sleeve shirt underneath this coat in frigid weather and feel toasty. It's a little too warm when the thermometer hits 40 degrees.

WARMEST ONE YET !

this is the jacket to wear when you work outside alot. as with my job, i am outside at all hours and have never found a jacket warm enough, until this one.

Aces all the way

I did prefer the man's jacket over the woman's and I love the fit- the feel and how toasty it is.
They did this right all the way!

An Extremely warm winter Parka

Designed for use in the Arctic this should be more than enough for severe winter conditions anywhere in the lower 48.

Outstanding Performance at 0 degrees F.

Very comfortable from Day One. Lightweight. Construction details are outstanding. No problem in outdoor activity at zero degrees Fahrenheit.
