Bike shorts

I am a casual cyclist who enjoys having the padded shorts for longer rides on the bike path. I have admittedly gained weight since my last pair of Canari gel pro shorts and was looking for a bigger size. My others were (after years of wear and wash) starting to look a little rough with the logos peeling off. I am happy with these and the only odd thing about look or feel is a different pad. This is not the chamois covered smooth pad, but a slicker fabric (lime green, but no one but you will see it) with some seems. It feels like the pad folds in an odd spot while I'm wearing them walking about. On the bike should be fine; I'm just not sure I'll like them as much as my old pair.

These are my favorite shorts

I bought 2 pair of these shorts before riding RAGBRAI 4 years ago, just now thinking it's time to replace one of them.
They are awesome for long rides. I love the gel and the padding cover wicks away moisture so sweat isn't as big of a problem as with other shorts I've tried.
I recommend these shorts to friends.

Comfortable, but

Ride road bike 2 to 3 times every week. Only complaint is the length on these shorts is about an inch shorter than my previous ones. Otherwise very comfortable, wash/dry easy, padding is not too bulky. My last pairs of same brand lasted five years before padding deteriorated. Hope these last as long!

Love these shorts

This was my second time purchasing these shorts. They have enough padding to be comfortable while riding but not too much so it feels like a diaper. I like the higher rise so my torso stays covered where my shorts and jersey meet around my middle. I would definitely buy these again

Great Riding Shorts

I have been using the gel shorts for Spinning Class and for Winter Triathlon training on my own bike on a trainer. Padding seems sufficient for both. Can't wait to get outside for some real cycling. So far, the shorts are very comfortable. Nothing negative to say!

nice ride

I am just starting in the biking mode and these sure made it alot easier to ride that 24 mile loop in the Grand Tetons National Park. Plus they looked rather stylish at the brewery at the end of the trail .

Exactly right

After some serious surgery, I lost a lot of muscle mass in my buttocks. I use these to supplement what I still have so that I can sit on hard chairs and benches and they are absolutely perfect for that.

very protective without excessive bulk

Using it in gym for upright bike rehab after back surgery. These shorts make it possible to sit on bike pain-free. Looking forward to using them when I graduate to outdoor biking.

Great for Alternative uses

I participate in Equine Assisted Physical Therapy. These shorts provide just the right amount of extra padding where I need it while in the saddle. A great multi-use product.

Great bike shorts

these are my favorite bike shorts. They don't ride up. They are comfortable. The gel pad works great. Used them on a 400 mile bike trip. Great performance.

Negative Reviews:

Too bulky

I bought two pairs for a multiple day ride last year and found these to be extremely uncomfortable as the padding was very bulky and it bunched up under me. I suppose they could be used for shorter rides but I don't use padded shorts on short rides. For me, these were a waste of money. I'm going back to the non gel type

Should have gotten a smaller pair

I got two different kinds of bike shorts since I hadn't ever owned any before so didn't know what was best. These are okay. I like the shorter length of the PI sugar shorts better. I should have gotten a medium instead of a large becuase they are a little baggy, not bad but definitely not snug. I usually wear a medium on athletic type shorts but after reading others reviews thought I should get a large. Oh well, they'll work for what I need them for.

Sizes are small compared to other brands

These are everyday shorts but do not stand up to long hauls. They are better for short training rides. Sizes are much smaller than other brands so buy at least one size larger. maybe two sizes!

nice product but sizing is large

had to re-order a smaller size, but still kept the medium since internet returns are a pain. rode with the mediums and was comfortable on the bike, they just were too large walking around
