Cannon Mini-Troll Downrigger Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Good product if you know how to use it!

I've had this little downrigger on my 16 foot lund for the past five years and never had a problem until I smashed into the pier! Look, If you know how this system is designed to work it will work fine. I used a 10lb. ball with it! Unfortunatly it will not withstand a miscalculated pier approch! Worth the money and hundreds of pounds of Salmon boated.

Cannon Mini Troll

I bought two Cannon Mini Troll downriggers before going on a fishing trip to Lake Tahoe. The one I used worked fine, but my friend did not loosen the Spool Knob on the one he was using and broke the handle. You think the handle would be strong enough to with stand that. Also, after he broke the handle he was reeling the cable back in and the Spool Knob unloosened and fell in to the lake. Like I said mine worked fine, but my friend was not impressed. I also had to really search to find a website to find replacement parts, but I found one.

I should have thrown my money in the lake!

The mini troll down rigger is very poor product.
The design makes for difficulty in securing on gunnel of my 14 footer. It has a mickey mouse clamp which is as useless as half a pair of pliers. I wasted my time and money buying this and Cabela"s should take it off their shelves! I'd use it for an anchor if I could . DO NOT BUY!!

Plastic

I got to play with this downrigger for about an hour, the handle snapped off and fell in the drink. Very angry now, I decided to keep fishing reeling in the line by hand. The nut on top of the spoon came loose, slipped off, and yes that too fell in the drink. DO NOT BUY THIS WAST OF MONEY.
