There's something about Capo jerseys that is undeniably warming. Many of their designs seem to channel a distinct sense of the classic age of cycling, while possessing a modern and forward-reaching aesthetic for the next generation of our glorious little sport. The Serie A Jersey is another home run for Capo's design team with its clean paneling, subtle color hits, and bold graphics. It's perfect for those weekend rides, giving you a comfortable yet high-performing break from your tired shop kit or asphyxiating aero race jersey.
The Serie A Jersey uses Capo Micro Quattro fabric. It's a classic, lightweight and fast-drying polyester knit with a smooth feel, and a subtle stretch. The Serie A is part of Capo's Corsa line, which offers a comfortable, no-fuss, club-inspired fit. If you want a classic fitting jersey without having to order multiple sizes up, the Modena or Serie A from Capo are your best choices.
Like all of Capo's jerseys, the full-length zipper is lockable. In its flipped upright position, the jersey can be pulled apart with one hand. Simply flip the zipper down, and it locks. This makes opening yourself up for ventilation a safe, single-handed affair while riding. The locking zipper is a tiny detail that's almost laughable in its perceived insignificance, but once you discover how easy it is to use, you'll never want to ride without one. Three generous back pockets house plenty of room for tools, snacks, a wind vest, or any other essentials you might need for your ride. The Serie A Jersey is available in Black/royal, White/red, or White/royal. All three of these color options are designed to match nicely with the monochromatic Serie A Bib Shorts, or the Modena Shorts. You may choose from sizes Small through XX-Large.
Capo makes good stuff. This jersey keeps me nice and cool on hot rides and does exactly what I want a jersey to do. As noted in the description, it doesn't have a fast or race-like look. The sleeves, rather than hugging the arm like my Castelli jerseys, are loose. A good shirt for a recovery ride or just hitting the road for pleasure.
Size-wise, these seem to run a little larger than Castelli--meaning they are nearly true to size and that you probably won't have to size up. But even if you size up they are still trim and flattering and not shapeless.
Nice lightweight mesh jersey, perfect for grinding out those hot summer training rides. As noted it fits a bit looser than the typical Capo jersey, I wouldn't call it a club fit but it's not racer tight either. The sleeves in particular feel roomy which adds to the comfort factor. In fact this jersey feels looser than my original campaign edition Modena which is supposedly one step down from the Series A. Maybe not first choice for race day but super nice jersey when you don't feel like turning yourself into the human condom.
