Carolina Manufacturing Cotton Bandanas Reviews:

Love them!

These bandanas were suggested to me by an elderly Peruvian man that wanted some bandanas and told me they had to be American made - no cheap Chinese stuff. So, I went online to see what was out there. I gave several to a friend of mine that camps a lot - she said that the Peruvian man knew what he was talking about - these held up well for dealing with sweat, bathing, and even a sprained wrist. The other bandanas she had been using got flimsy quickly and didn't hold up for what she needed. I myself recongized the bandanas as the same brand of ones I purchased as a teen 30 years ago - they are still in use and holding up well.

Very Happy - came back to order more!

I ordered these several months ago to replace some I've used since my high school days in the late 1970s. As mentioned in other reviews, these start out stiff, but after a couple washings they are softer. The fabric just has some "body" to it. None of mine have faded, and they've been washed in hot water, hung out to dry in the sun, and/or tossed in the dryer when necessary. I've been using them rolled up as sweatbands, and carrying them to wipe sweat from my face when running. Great for both purposes, and they'll be used for other things too!

finally something Made in the U.S.A.

i was very relieved to find bandanas that were actually made in the U.S.A. after my last one was eaten by my puppy dog. well now i know where to get more after he eats these. God Bless the U.S.A. and i hope to find more made in the U.S.A. things in the future to buy and use. (i've recommended this site to my friends who are all also looking for made in the U.S.A. bandanas)

Most Useful Item in the House

These things have many, many issues. Napkins at the table; table toppers in the garden, first aid rag kept in the purse, dust rag in the glove compartment, a picnic surface, a neck scarf when hiking, insert through your key ring and never lose your keys, wrap around your dog's neck for their decor/use, bread basket napkin, decorate the vacation house with a touch of home. On and On!

Quality product, excellent service!

Very sturdy, well made IN THE USA bandanas! I gladly paid a little bit more to get a quality, AMERICAN made product. These bandanas are so much better than the chinese junk available locally. These are sturdy, with a tight weave and strong color. They wash nicely, and smooth out almost wrinkle-free. The quantity discount brought the price very close to what what the cheaper ones sell for. at Campmor on 08/08/2012

Bandanas! Made in the USA!!

I was so happy to find real USA made bandanas. My husband uses them in the garden, and uses them as handkerchiefs when going out casually. These bandanas are generous in size, and the colors and design are very nice. One thing against them, but it may change, they seem stiff. I'm hoping that after a couple of washes, they will soften. I would highly recommend them.

Multiplicity of uses

During the summer, when I'm boating, I wet it down and wear it around my neck as a cooler. I've been known to wear it as a mask during a dust or sand blow. I've worn it as a face mask during very cold days while skiing. It works well as a sweat band. And, Oh yeah, sometimes I use it to blow my nose.

Very Nice

I bought a dozen for my daughter's class for their Guacamole-making project. They wore the bandanas on their heads for preparation, and over their noses for "bandito" delivery. I was thrilled to find American-made 100% cotton bandanas at an excellent price! Loved all of the colors, but went with the traditional red. The weight of the fabric is substantial, but softens with each wash.

Cotton Bandanas made in USA

The new bandanas are very stiff, I suppose from sizing added by the manufactorer. I have some that I have washed several times and very slowly they are getting softer. I'm sure with time they will become soft enough to be comfortable for wiping my face. I would also prefer if they were hemmed on the edges instead of the machined thread edges.

A classic man size handkerchief

If you wear jeans and don't have a handkerchief in your other back pocket you shouldn't be allowed outside. This 100% USA made bandana/handkerchief is is tough, doesn't shrink, will take a few washes to soften up (if that's what your gal's nose needs)and is what you have been looking for. If you don't buy it, it means you already have plenty.

Negative Reviews:

Stiff and thick

These bandanas are stiff and made from a cloth that is almost like tent canvas. Repeated washing softens them a bit, but they are still thick, rough, and faded quickly. If the A.S.P.C.A. doesn't catch you, you might tie them around your dog's neck, but keep them away from your nose. The best use is probably as paint rags.

Too Stiff

I had high hopes for these bandanas and ordered 8 of them. Despite having washed them 6+ times they remain far to stiff to be useful. Being so stiff they are almost totally unabsorbent of sweat. Maybe these would be okay as a fashion accessory, but as a functional bandana they are useless. Do not buy.

I would never buy this product again.

The quality of bandanas has gotten so poor over the last several years. I used to be able to wash new ones a couple of times before they would be soft enough to use, now I can wash them 20x and the are still stiff enough to stand up on their own.

stiff bandana

Use for sweat absorbtion while working. Product is extremely stiff even after multiple washings. Could have got Chinese made ones for cheaper and same problem.

Cotton bandanas

Colorful, but so stiff (even after 5 washes) that I keep them away from my nose.

Not soft

I was looking for a soft bandana - this isn't it.

You get what you pay for

I bought three in black. i wanted to have something in my pocket to wipe away sweat on hot summer days. While it does that it also feels very rough on my face. Additionally, the color faded a lot after one wash. At under 2 dollars i feel i got what i paid for. It was important to me that it was made in the US but its sad to see the quality. I do like the pattern,i feel that is the best part and well that it service its purpose...

not true to color but good bandanas

Colors online are deceiving. They show much deeper color than actual bandanas. Looks Teal and Burgandy online but arrived as light powder blue and faded wine colors. Disappointing but decent bandanas if you don't care about color. Love that they are made in America.

Tough & rough

I've washed these bandanas at least 6 times and they have yet to soften. Made in China. Can't recommend these to anyone.
dherberg at Campmor on 08/08/2013

Too rough for hankies

These are fine for uses NOT requiring absorbency or softness. Tough fabric for blowing a drippy nose, though.
