Positive Reviews:

Fabulous product

I bought MSR Quick 2 Cook System to replace a set of old, but well performing Coleman pot set that I had been using with out fail for years. After research all of the major commercially available cook sets, including the integrated ones like JetBoil, I found the MSR Quick 2 be what I needed. So far the set has performed fabulously. It's easy to clean & is truly no stick, the plates are durable when cutting things like steaks on them and the insulated cups works well with both hot and cold beverages. The lid strainer performs as advertised, All the components store inside the main pot. The only negatives I've come across are these:

1. A bit heavy for 20 miles plus hikes for a single person. If you're an ultra-light die-heard this set might not be for you. However, this set is made for two people so you can either ditch one of the bowls, cups and small pot to cut the weight, or distribute the load between two people as your partner wont need a cook set.

2. While the handle is rock solid while in place, it can be hard to switch the handle to the other pot while on is on a stove and is hot. Solution: buy another handle for the 2nd pot.

While I can't list it as a Con, I personally like taking a small pot, for boiling water etc, and a small fry pan for things like cook meat, neither of the pots really function well as a frying pan as they are deep and the radius too small. But again, this is my personal preference towards frying pans and not what I deem a deficiency in the MSR Quick 2 design. Hope this helps!

Pretty Good

We went on a 6 day canoe trip in the Boundary Waters and used this set exclusively. It's very light, fairly durable, very compact, and easy to clean. The bowls are not that durable. Using a knife left minor scratches on the plastic bowls. Wish they were a little more durable. Everything else if fairly sturdy and it's great to have everything compacted so easy and light. We also bought the fry pan separately and it fits on the bottom of this. All and all worth it. It would be nice if the cups were a little bigger. They only hold one cup. The cups have measurements on the inside which is nice though for measuring liquids. We used the dragonfly stove and it boiled water using the pots here super fast. Under 3 minutes for a couple cups.

I just received these last week. Originally, I had purchased a set of the Snow Peak Titanium pots thinking they would be great. The minute I unwrapped the Snow Peak pots, I knew I was sending them back. As soon as the new MSR pots arrived-I was excited to use them. The look well built and sturdy. As a person that has some long backpacking treks planned, I feel confident these will suit my needs. I'll be using them next week and I may hit you up with an actual review of how well they work.

I like this, but I hardly ever use the plates. Most of my backpacking is ultralight, so I mostly have dehydrated meals. For me that means less weight, and no cleaning dishes. Still, everything in this set fits so nicely together. I have used the mugs, and they are quite nice. since they are insulated, your morning hot chocolate will not turn into cool chocolate by the time your oatmeal or breakfast burrito is finished. Nice kit.
