Cascade Designs Platypus Water Tank - Having a few extra gallons of water around just makes things easier. Unfortunately, having a giant, empty container around doesn’t. Therein lies the beauty of our Water Tanks. Collapsible by nature, they pack flat for efficient packing and our Big Zip™ opening makes filling and cleaning a breeze. The biggest, 6L tank weighs a mere 4.4 oz (124g), making it just as practical for group backpacks and river trips as it is for summers on the road. New features include our new, more durable film, a lower, more stable design and reinforced handles for easy carrying.
Moosejaw

The Water Tank by Platypus is now vastly improved with a more durable and flexible film, new carry handle, and easier-to-close Big Zip opening. It also packs small and carries plenty, making it ideal for backpacking or base camping.

It holds your water :P

I have used the older model for a few years and grabbed this one when it was on sale.. I love it! Very light weight and pack able.. down to a little bigger than a deck of cards. Great for setting up a base camp.. some people were complaining about the closure system and I don't see any problem with it as long as you use it how it was designed to be used.BUY IT!

a great way to carry water at camp without packing unneccessary wieght

carrys alot of water easily and sits very stable while not in use. the ziplock top is very stiff...but you really don't need to use it when filtering or filling with piped water. big top opening makes drying easy. takes up very little room when empty.

I love this bag

My girlfriend call this my waterpurse. It does everything you want in a water tank. Folds to about the size of a pack of cigarettes, carries your water safely, and has a large ziploc type opening that is very secure but allows for easy cleaning.

Negative Reviews:

Worked well the first use, not so well afterwards

Thought it would be a useful, lightweight option to carry filtered water and it was. Then the laminate around the pinch-top seal separated. Still works well for hold water around the camp site but will never use it to store water in my bag.

Neutral Reviews:

Hard to close = hard to use

It works for holding water. It does stand upright and empties out more easily than some of the jug-type ones. the 'secure' manner of closing actually makes it really difficult to close, so water spills out, which is just annoying and counter-prodictive.My advice? One camping trips, make one of your kids (or the really annoying guy that always tags along) the "water-watcher" and make them go back and forth to fill it up so your feet aren't always wet.
