Love this little clock!

I was excited to find this clock (and on sale!) at Campmor - I thought it had been discontinued, and have wanted to buy another for some time.

I have used a duplicate of this clock for many years, and have found it so much more reliable than others I have tried. I use it as my bedside clock & love that it still works even if the power goes out. I also take it with me while travelling, since it is easier to use than trying to figure out how to set motel clocks.

The display is easy to read, even for my aging eyes! All the controls are easy to use, and the alarm is loud enough to hear even when wearing earplugs while camping. The batteries are standard AAA, cheaper & easier to find than the watch-type batteries used in some travel clocks.

The only potential downsides I can think of are the slightly larger size (compared with some other models), and the back-light button could be depressed if something pokes it in a travel bag, depleting the batteries. Neither of these dampens my enthusiasm for this item.

works well

Agree that it's difficult to set - sliders for that purpose are quite small - thus my "4" rating. However, I get up at the same time M-F so it's "set it and forget it" for me. Turning alarm on-off is simple. Snooze time is great, not too long. It can be difficult to find the snooze bar in the dark. My solution is to just slide my finger down the face of the clock on the left side, works just great. Best thing is that the alarm is quite loud compared to others I've had. Very pleased.

Clock weathers a storm

I use the clock on my condo balcony, because I am not allowed to mount a clock on the wall. It gives me the temperature and time when I am sunning, so I don't burn. I also watch the time when I am grilling so the food doesn't burn. I left it on the balcony during a rainstorm. The wind blew it to the floor and it was filled with water. After drying out, it works just fine.

Great Desk and Travel Clock!

I already own 2 of these - one on my desk at work and one in my closet at home (which I also take on trips). I've used these for 5+ years and never been disappointed.I just bought 3 more for gifts. Handy in a tent at night to check time and temperature, and on the desk for a quick check of the day of the week, date, time, and temperature - all on the same screen!

Does the job for over 18 years

I have used this product for about 20 years and it is great. The only problem is that I left my old one in my hotel room and had to get a new one this year.
the face of the new one does not light up as well as the old one.
This is the best travel alarm I have ever had. it is either on my night stand at home or on the road.

Awesome, tough little alarm clock

This has been my daily alarm clock for about 8 years now. Its super tough- I've accidentally run it through the washing machine twice and it still works like a champ. It's easy to set, very reliable, full featured and has a small footprint. Its not the smallest travel clock (its a bit bigger than a deck of cards) but it's the best alarm clock I've ever owned. I couldn't recommend it enough.,

Bulletproof travel clock

I cannot believe this item is still being sold new... I have used mine (and my gf hers) for 10-odd years. Small buttons, etc. - maybe, yes. But it is pretty intuitive to use. I am on the road 180+ days a year, never late thanks to this travel clock. It has outlasted all of my other road warrior kit, except for the Eagle Creek toiletry bag (no longer available). Battery miser, too.

Travel Clock

This the second one of these I have owned. The first was bought about 8 years ago which I used during work travel. It worked great. Gave it to my wife to use, because it is simple to set, etc. and she used it another couples, until the back light quit working.I highly recommend it to anyone who truly needs a good easy to use reliable clock.

A great clock for the money

I bought this same model clock from Campmor in 1999 and it lasted from 1999-2010, when the electronics finally went out. I paid about $9 for one in 1999 and it lasted 11 years without fail. Not bad for a [$] LCD clock. I just bought another one and was glad to see that Campmor was still selling them.

To Early To Tell

I like the size and portability. It was easy to set up and when your cell phone is discharged during travel this should be the killer back up
for catching planes, trains and automobiles.. Give me a little more time and I'll tell you how it performs under pressure as I'll be on the road soon as a recent retiree...

Lost in the dark

I'm returning the clock. Bought it for travel and camping. The light is insufficient to see the time or temperature. The buttons and button labels are too small to use. The time and temperature are reliable if you could see them.
sunnysue at Campmor on 07/07/2013

I don't know what clock the other reviewers received, but for starters the AM and PM on the alarm were reversed. So I missed my first wake-up call. And the how-to-set-the clock print is pretty tiny.

Not worth considering

After a very short time this alarm clock only keeps time; but does not have a workable alarm! Have tried new batteries; but this travel alarm clock is not worth it!

Worst Casio Product Made

Casio is my brand, but they should be ashamed of this creation.

It arrived defective

One of the settings did not work when received.

Tiny control switches

Nice compact alarm clock but the control switches are tiny and writing is hard to read because they are so small if you don't have good light. On our last camping trip I got up before the alarm went off to go fishing and forgot about the alarm. It kept going off, my wife could not figure out how to turn it off snooze because the switches were so small and she wound up chunking it out the door of the cabin so she could go back to sleep.
raybait at Campmor on 11/11/2010

I'm still looking for a great clock

The ideal travel clock should be designed so that none of the control buttons can be actuated while the clock is stuffed into an already crammed backpack. Since the backlight button on this clock isn't covered the battery performance is compromised. There's money to be made if someone would put some real thought into designing an outstanding travel clock. Having said all of that, my final opinion is that this is the best thing out there and will probably serve me well utill something fundamentaly better comes along.
Flip Siesmic at Campmor on 04/04/2012

Perfect for travel, but light is too dim

Older models had a nice bright light that could almost double as a flashlight. This model has a very dim light, difficult to see in the dark. For general use, the other features are fine, and it is very easy to use, easy to set, lightweight, portable, good for travel.
Yonna at Campmor on 11/11/2011

just OK clock

OK for a travel alarm but back light it too dark and the numbers are too small for me to read without picking it up. Not very happy with it.
Osh at Campmor on 12/12/2012

Not bad

OK for a travel alarm but the numbers are too small for me to read without picking it up. With two batteries it should go a long time between changes.
jackk at Campmor on 09/09/2012

Time and temp

The labels hard to read when setting. Materials do not seem durable. The display light is outdated and not adequate.
Big Unit at Campmor on 10/10/2013

Generally Good Quality

I have to find my glasses to change settings as the switch labels are too small.
