Excellent Buy

This is a great watch! I purchased one from Sears about 6 years ago and although the plastic trim only lasted about 4 years and the controls are so stuck that half of them now longer operate, the battery has never been changed. I cut, grind and weld metal so it has a few small scratches on the face, but it is still very readable. One caveat is that I had a very hard time finding and modifying a Speidel band for it. All in all, I love the atomic time feature and wanted a watch with an eastern time zone on it as that control no longer works. Now I have the old one, on my wrist as I type, that s set to CST...we currently live in Alabama..and the new one is set for EST as we are moving to Maine. When we get there, i'll have the old one cleaned and a new battery installed for a backup or work watch and keep the new one for "best".

Almost Perfect set of functions

This watch not only sets itself (such as when Daylight Savings Time changes), but also has World Time, a Countdown Timer, Stopwatch and an Alarm. I find all of these handy - the Alarm is loud enough to wake me, I time my jogging with the Stopwatch, and the Countdown Timer helps me avoid burning dinner, or overfilling the bathtub. I might buy a watch with other, special features, but this one is perfect for everyday use because it has everything I might want in an average day. The face of the watch is more scratch-resistant than the last Casio I had. It was good enough, I bought a spare, in case this one ever breaks, and I'm keeping it for the future.

Had to have another

this is my second waveceptor. after about 5 years my old one would not reset, or re-adjust to the correct time, went back to 2005?. I am assuming it was the battery. I loved having the watch, wore it every day. It always shows the correct time, and date, wherever you are. If you cross time zones it automaticly adjusts to the new zone. The price at Campmore was too good to resist, had to have another. Have seen this watch on other sites at $30.00 more.I recommend this watch to my fiends. My previous watch had a metal bracelet band, so I swapped the bands. The only thing I did not like about the watch, was the synthetic strap.

My old one got sick, so I bought another

I originally bought this model years ago because I thought the atomic clock in Ft Collins would eliminate the need to correct for watch error when doing celestial navigation problems. Turns out the watch itself kept almost perfect time and the daily correction from Colorado was unnecessary. Recently,
the watch would work perfectly if left on my night stand, but would revert to Jan 1 2001 if on my wrist.
So I ordered a replacement.

Casio Digital Wave Ceptor Atomic Watch

How many Casio watches have I had? I really haven't kept count, but it is several. They are always very practical, useful time-pieces. As a guy with small wrists, I wish they made another smaller band for little guys, but I can deal. The price was right, delivery prompt. I'll probably buy another when this one is worn out (which happens to plastic watches).

Good balance - features and easy to use

I had this model in the past and unfortunately lost it. I bought a different watch with more features as a replacement; then after frustration with setting the other watch, bought another copy of this model. A particular feature I use often is the multiple time zone setting; since I travel frequently this is very helpful.

I have bought this watch several times

This is my third watch. I thought I had lost the previous one; but found it after purchasing this one. I love the accuracy and not having to re-set the time. I just wish the band were sturdier as it tends to break after a while at the place where I buckle it.

Good Watch

The best part is the atomic time keeping ability. Always accurate time. This was a replacement for the exact same watch. On the previous one the strap broke after about 4 years. I wish they had a little thicker/heavier strap. That's my only gripe with it. Otherwise an excellent watch.

Use it everyday!

Stylish enough to use everyday except maybe in a formal setting. Bought it for auto time synchronization and this works very well. Controls are logical, although labeling on case is tiny. Very bright backlight. Not fond of plastic bands, but very comfortable. Happy with purchase

Great bargain for a great watch

It's hard to find a reasonably priced digital with a countdown timer and almost impossible to get one at this price that offers the accuracy of WWVH signal reception. This one picks up the signal regularly here in N.C., so it's got it all.

Negative Reviews:

Does not sync with NBS radio

I can't use the product. It won't sync with the time signal and is too difficult to reset each time I want to use it.

Review of Casio watch.

The radio setting doesn't work. The watch looks nice but it would be better if I could trust it wo work.

Nice watch, but uncomfortable band

Really liked how this watch looked and functioned. I set it manually since the automatic time setting seemed like a hastle to use. (Instructions say you have to take it off and set it by the window undisturbed overnight) When I first put it on I noticed the band was really long and there was a lot of excess band wrapping around my arm. Then as my wrist would move the hair on my arm would get pulled in between the band and the watch. I had to stop wearing it. I like the watch, but not the band.

Easy to read time display

I bought this to replace ladies TImex WR50, which I could not find anymore. I love atomic time keeping digital watches. This watch is a man's watch, so display is very large but I wear it anyway because it's so easy to read. Plastic wrist strap is too big, and very cheap. I expect it to break soon. I don't know if another wrist strap can replace it, it doesn't look like it. I'd give it more stars if the wrist band was not so cheap and could be replaced.

Time signal reception doesn't work well

I've had other Casio "Waveceptor" watches (watches that can receive the National Time Signal). It's always a little tricky finding a spot in the house where the watch will receive this signal reliably.

This watch is far less sensitive than the others I have known. Where my old ones would receive reliably on my nightstand or dresser, this one must be hung from a suction cup in the middle of my home's sliding glass doors to receive about 2/3 of the time.

keeps good time

keeps good time, had an older model lasted for years, see how this one holds up.the mode button is easily changed by just regular movement.
