In an industry obsessed with technology, we're finding the installation of timeless aesthetics to be a dying art. Luckily, though, classic, clean, and thoughtful are the hallmarks of Castelli design, each of which are well represented in its new Prologo 3 Jersey.
Castelli constructed the Prologo 3 from the venerable Stratus fabric. This material features a dual-layer composition that's been designed with moisture transport as its primary goal. To achieve this, the 100% polyester inner-layer pulls sweat away from the skin, transferring it to the thin, microfiber outer-layer. The duality creates soft, breathable, and quick-drying system that feels light and airy on the skin. Additionally, Castelli also gave the jersey its patented Prosecco treatment. This process is a topical, hydrophilic treatment that spreads moisture out over a larger surface area for rapid evaporation. Ultimately, it keeps you cooler and drier over your race or club ride.
Inset, raglan sleeves add to the comfort of the Prologo 3 jersey by providing a more anatomical fit. Additionally, this design feature eliminates any fabric bunching under your arms. To keep the jersey in place, Castelli incorporated an elastic waistband that prevents jersey-rise when you're in the drops, and sagging when the pockets are loaded.
For ventilation, Castelli inserted a mesh panel across the the back of the jersey. You'll also find a full-length YKK zipper running the course of the front panel. So, with a quick zip, you can control your temperature on long climbs without overheating.
Three rear pockets provide ample storage for your ride essentials, and reflective accents increases your visibility to motorists in low-light conditions.
The Castelli Prologo 3 Jersey is available in six sizes from Small to XXX-Large and in the colors Acid Green/black, Anthracite/white, Black/red, Black/yellow fluo, Ocean/white, Red/white, and White/black.
OK i know the euros are much tinier than the 'mericans. BUT this ran much smaller than expected. I purchased this as a gift for my dad and it was a size too small. He normally wears a L but had to go for an XL (but then returned it again for an XXL because he didn't like his belly showing through the neon green fabric)
If you're normally a L , I would suggest going up 1 size.
This top is basic and does the job. Always a fan of Castelli. This product does not disappoint!
I have several of these jerseys and have only one complaint, the zipper. It's a fine tooth zipper that's hard to start and even harder to adjust with one hand while riding. Other than that I like the cut, fabric and styling but wish they had used a coarse tooth zipper like those found on the Velocissimo jersey.
I love the simple design. It's almost retro. The fit is just slightly looser than other Castelli jerseys I own. This is definitely not a race cut.
I am 6' 160lb and wear a medium. I should order another one while on sale...
I loved this jersey, unitl the end of the season when I noticed the color difference between the front, the back and the arm pits. I purchased the anthracite color, but it is now many shades depending on where you look. Also the red from the Castelli logo ran into the white. I have ten year old jerseys that look better. Disclaimer: I ALWAYS wash on cold, delicate and hang dry. I have never had a piece of cycling clothing loose color so fast from the sun.
I know the Italians like tight fitting gear.... but this is ridiculous!
I am 5'10", 187 lbs and this felt like a small on me. The material and design was nice (I did say Italian) so pity the size. BC did me right on the returns though... am very happy with that.
Loved everything but the zipper. Not the usual Castelli zipper and the zipper was backwards from a standard man's zipper. Zipper was also hard to get started. Loved everything else though.
