Winter socks used to barely close the gap between the top of your shoes and the bottom of your tights. First there were 9cm, and then Castelli's bold move to 15cm. However, the cold still found a way to leak in. But, at 20cm, the Castelli Venti Socks take warmth to new heights — literally.
To ensure warmth, Castelli constructed the Venti socks from Merino wool. Why Merino? Well, because it's a long-fiber wool that's renowned for its soft touch, breathable warmth, and moisture wicking properties. And, even though the tall-sock look seems to be a fad, this cut functions to keep your legs warmer in the winter. As a result, your feet will remain warmer as well.
As we said, the material is non-abrasive, but the benefits don't stop there. Merino wool is what we call a 'hydrophilic' fiber, meaning that it has the natural ability to positively interact with water. In fact, Merino is able to absorb as much as 30 percent of its weight before exuding the sensation of wetness. Additionally, it's naturally antimicrobial, so you'll experience next to no stink from the socks. This property is furthered by Merino's natural ability to disperse electrostatic charges. So, the Venti socks will pick up less dirt, grime, and lint in the first place.
These socks are long enough to keep cold out of the gap between your tights and shoes, and they also provide an extra layer of warmth on your lower legs. Additionally, their simple design aesthetic will look fantastic under your suit in the city.
The Castelli Venti Socks are available in color Black and in the sizes Small/Medium (35-39), Large/XX-Large (40-43), and XX-Large (44-47).
