Caterpillar Brode Soft Toe

I really liked this shoe style wise and overall it seemed like it would be a comfortable shoe if it were just a little wider. The shoe seems to be about a half size longer and about a half size narrower than marked. I do have wide feet and usually have to wear either a wide width shoe or a 1/2 to 1 size larger shoe to accommodate my feet but I felt that even in the wide width I would have to get a shoe that was too long and ungainly so I ended up returning them and was disappointed because I liked the shoes otherwise.

These shoes are great! They are like a super durable skate shoe. I originally bought the steel toe, but the manufacturer put one narrow toe and one wide toe in the shoe and they didn't fit right so I went with the soft toe and they were broken in from almost the first moment I put them on. I normally wear regular width shoes but I went with wide since I have been wearing the Vick barefoot shoes a lot.

I really like these shoes. I am a photographer and bought them so that I could wear them with shorts or pants. They are chunky enough to handle whatever I have to walk through for an assignment. They are comfortable, although they probably don't have quite as much arch support as I would have liked. They are also probably not as dressy as I always need but I doubt most people world buy them for that.

High quality shoe, looks good, feels (mostly) good. Construction is top-notch. Not quite lace-to-toe, but easy to adjust and snug across the top of the foot. Toe box is constrictive, however, even for a standard width shoe and ultimately that was the deal-breaker for me. Insole is OK, but nothing to write home about - not much in the way of arch support.

The steel toed version of these shoes was uncomfortable, the soft toe version is top notch. After six weeks of heavy use these shoes still look new, which is shocking. Other brands that I have tried come apart at the sole after a short time, not these.
