best for night rides

Excellent buy, the flowchart instructions online are a lot easier than the booklet that came with it. Once it is set up it is very intuitive. I have had it a year and the batteries are still good. The display died while I was riding in the rain and I left it in a bag of rice for two days and it worked great after that. the backlight is awesome for early morning fitness. Being wireless it sometimes picks up radio interference, it read my max speed as being 65 mph. A great computer for racing or commuting with a decent pricetag.

All you need for recreational rides

If all you need is to know your time, distance, average and maximum speed and odometer, then this is the computer for you. It also has a lap feature. The directions are all pictorial and could be clearer. The set up was straight forward.
To reset distance or time for a ride you can push down the button on the front while mounted on the bike, but you have to use your fingernail, not the pad of your finger.

Adds enjoyment/safety to mountain biking

Just purchased and used several times on rough woods trails...once in heavy/wet snow...with no problems so far. User instructions can be followed; however, it takes practice to learn the functions. Makes trail riding much more enjoyable and safe because you can accurately track yourself on a map. Although screen information is small, it is readable while riding...just wait for smooth trail.

Great computer - lousy instructions

Great little computer as is everything that I get from Cateye. But the documentation (and interface) are confusing. I recommend this one if you have someone explain the functions and how to use it, but if you are trying to do this from the package documentation, you will have a challenge in using this computer.

Satisfied

I'm very happy with my CatEye. It's easy to use and to read while biking.

nice computer

I use this mainly for commuting to work in Denver, CO. The mornings are often cold before the sun warms things up, and the sensor does not register below about 30 degrees. I am not sure if this is common amongst all cycle computers, but I was surprised to find this out.

Outside of this issue, the computer works well and as expected. Installation was simple. I really like the ability to adjust the display for what I am interested in seeing (clock during commutes and other info on longer rides).
