CatEye Strada Slim Bike Computer -

The Cateye Strada wireless computer has been the gold standard in cycling computers. The new Strada Slim is a “slimmed down” version of the Strada wireless. The newly designed circuitry and increased efficiency allows for a smaller battery, so the computer can be thinner and lighter. The smaller packages still boasts the same great cycling features and functions with a larger screen and the ability to customize your display by showing only the functions you select.

  • Large font size and customizable screen makes it easy to read trip details with a quick glance; display can be programmed to meet your preferences
  • Functions include current, average and maximum speed, trip distance, odometer, elapsed time, stop watch, clock and dual-tire size recognition
  • Slim computer unit is 35% thinner and lighter than the original Strada Wireless bike computer yet the screen size is 23% larger for easy viewing

  • Additional features include average speed pacing, automatic start/stop, power-saving and sleep modes, and low battery alarm for both computer head and sensor
  • Slim speed sensor can be placed on the inside of the front fork of your bike so it's virtually out of sight
  • Slim speed sensor requires the clearance between the front fork and spokes to be 12 - 17mm; Slim computer is also compatible with the SPD-01 sensor if your clearance is larger
  • CatEye Strada Slim bike computer comes with a CR1616 battery for the computer and a CR2032 battery for the speed sensor

The CatEye Strada Slim bike computer is a slimmed-down version of the popular Strada Wireless computer. It delivers all the same useful speed and distance data in a sleeker package.

CatEye Strada Slim Bike Computer Reviews:

Better than previous models

I bought this product after my previous CatEye computer flew off my bike and got run over by a car. This product has a much more secure mount, even for those of us who frequently leave our bikes outside and have to take the computer off to take it with us. It can take a bit of force to remove the computer from its mount, but it's worth dealing with so that it doesn't fly off into traffic. Numbers are easy to read, and the readings seem to be fairly accurate. This computer is much more sensitive than previous models. They're very serious about that 23 inch range from the sensor to the computer though, I can't get this to work on my folding bike at all because the distance between a 16 inch tire and the handlebar is a few inches too far away. All in all though, does the basics and the handlebar mounting bracket is heartier than previous models and can withstand taking the computer on and off daily.

good for the money

Lots of functions, which is good except that, as it shifts from one function to the next linearly, to go backwards, say from distance to elapsed time, you have to cycle through all of them. Okay, not a big deal. It would be nice if it was backlit for use in the evening.
