Attention getting light

Rating:****
The light is very bright. The two banks of five LEDs should be visible to all drivers.
The rack mounting is so poor that they don't even mention it in the mounting instructions. I chose not to even try it and instead used the belt clip that was provided. The second morning the light ejected itself from the clip and went bouncing down the road.
Since then I have jury-rigged the light to the rack with the seat post mount and some hardware from my garage. It's not perfect, but better than before.
One of the other reviewers cited easy battery removal. NOT SO. The light has to be removed from the bike and then you have to smack one hand against the other to get the batts. to come out.
The bottom line is that the light is very good, the belt mount is poor and the rack mount is pathetic. The standard post mount might be good, I don't know because I can't use it the way it was designed to be used.

Bright, Adaptable and Attention Grabbing

Rating:*****
[...] I am not disappointed in the least! The taillight is the brightest I've seen and the side visibility is enhanced with the flashers on the side of the unit. It is adaptable to a wide range of mountings including directly to the Topeak rack system I own. If I have anything negative to say about this light, it would be there are too many choices for flasher patterns. Choice is good, however, and you are able to pick the pattern you feel gives the best warning.

Great light, but rack mount issues.

Rating:****
I use this as a rear light on my commute. Because of a seat bag and rack bag, I needed to mount this to my rear rack. I made my own mount because the included mounts wouldn't work for me. I see another reviewer had no trouble. As I bought mine two years ago, maybe Cateye has added a rear rack mounting bracket. Cateye has excellent post sale service and was extremely helpful to me on the battery connect problem.

Good light, bad battery connections

Rating:****
I too have had connection problems with it. Sometimes it doesn't light fully and a tap makes it work. I'm going to try putting a slim magnet on the end of the batteries to get a better connection.

Other than that, it's very bright, and the side LEDs are welcome.

There are rather too many modes, so you have to cycle through the 5 of them to turn it off.

Best I'v Ever Found

Rating:*****
Very sturdy and water tight. Long battery life on flashing modes. Easy to change batteries. I use two of them on my recumbent tricycle, one on each seat post top. Great rear and side safety lights. All cheaper tail lights I have had fall apart from vibration and battery changes. These have lasted 2000 commuter miles so far.

Excellent rear and side visibility

Rating:*****
I wanted a tail light that screams out to motorists approaching from behind -- especially the ones on their cell phones! This one fills the bill. Have had it for a year and it has been 100% reliable. Worth every single penny. Don't scrimp on safety.

Very BRIGHT!!!

Rating:*****
Much brighter and visible than the TL-LD1000 I've gotten 3 years of constant duty out of and it is still going strong. My wife's LD1000 broke and Cat Eye replaced it free of charge with the LD1100 and I am impressed.

Excellent light!

Rating:****
Well made, easy to install and use. Reasonably bright (as much as you can expect from a LED with long battery life) with a number of eye-catching flashing options. Good battery life. All in all, well worth the cost.

BRIGHTEST TAIL LIGHT !!!

Rating:*****
I HAVE THE CAT EYE TL-LD1000 IS THE OLDER VERSION OF THE TL-LD1100. THIS LED TAIL LIGHT IS SO BRIGHT AND HAS 4 DIFFERENT FLASH MODE AND IT'S WATER RESISTANT. WORTH EVERY PENNY.......

Negative Reviews:

Poor design on battery contact

Rating:**
I bought two of these but both had problems with battery contact so I needed to frequently twist the shelf to have the battery re-connect. This light is also very bulky and heavy, and pricy. There are newer lights that are smaller and much brighter than this. Shop around.
