Good utility oar

Lots of reviews about the poor finish. I bought 4 (2 pairs). They are utility oars. Finish is good to go, not for show.

Yes, I admit, I commit the rowing sin of digging the blade into the gravel in shallow water. These have a hardwood insert in the tip of the paddle for sinners like me.

These softwood lame grain poor finish oars are low cost and light weight. If you have ever rowed with expensive heavy hardwood oars, you will love these rough-duty cheapees.

Great Oars

It's great to see oars that come in the right lengths,so many times you order 6' oars and you get 5.5'ones. These are good and strong, be able to handle years of service.Plus they are just plain sexy!

Negative Reviews:

Wood is splintering after only one use

I used these oars only once and for just a short time. Already I see splintering and lifting of the wood. I can't give an honest review just in case these particular oars by-passed the quality control folk during manufacturing.

Gentle rowing gentlemen

Row, row, row your boat GENTLY down the
stream. Emphasis on "gently", they would
be nice if they were made of ash or some
quality wood but, they're not.

Only decent quality.

check marks throughout the oars.
