I love my Chaco sandals becuase of the thick soles that absorb the shock for my arthritic foot, and they also are incredible for my high arches. Sence I live in Montana, I can't where them year 'round. I wear them until the snow flies, then go into depresseion mode becuase I miss the support so much! I orderd the Torlan based on the description of the soles being like the sandals. They are comfortable, however, the sole is not as thick as my sandals - which are probably an older style. I am a bit disappointed in that since I walk a lot and my feet get more achy in the shoes that they ever do when I where my sandals. But, I will still wear them, and will always be a Chaconian! I may try the VIKA shoe to see if that sole support is better.
