lightweight chaco sandal

The best thing about these Chaco sandals, for me, is that they are lightweight. My older Chacos are so heavy that I don't wear them. When gardening all day, or hiking, I don't want the extra weight on my feet. I have read some reviews that complained that the plastic side strap attachments were uncomfortable for people, but I have absolutely no problem with that. I like the fact that the straps on these are thinner than those on the classic Teva sandal. I wear either a size 8 or 8.5 (Keen and some others), and the 8 is perfect for me in these.

Negative Reviews:

Love Chaco sandals, but not these.

I am a huge Chaco fan, have been for years, but this model of sandal has been less than stellar. I love how they are lightweight, however the plastic side strap is a HUGE issue. My first pair of these- the plastic side strap broke within less than a year of use. My second pair- the plastic side strap broke within less than 6 months (I thought I was trading my broken pair in for a pair with the mesh side strap, but the picture was deceiving). Granted, I am not a light user of shoes- I hike in my Chacos, swim, paddle, get them muddy, beat up, etc, however the quality is not what I had come to expect from the company. My very first pair of Chacos lasted me 7 seasons of hard use! Good shoe, but only if you're not intending to use them for anything but walking around town.
