Sorry for the long review, but for others who have had trouble finding a nice looking pair of sandals that are ALSO comfortable, I have to be a bit long-winded. These sandals are fantastic! I usually buy a pair of sport sandals every summer because of the comfort factor and because of their overall design to actually stay on your foot when you're walking (with non-sport sandals I end up squeezing my toes with every step to make sure they don't fall off - causing bad toe cramps). I was actually searching for my next pair of sport sandals when I came across these. I decided to give them a shot. Again, FANTASTIC! These sandals offer ultimate adjustability. The instructions are printed right on the box and are easy to follow. I was concerned that the footbed wouldn't absorb moisture from sweaty feet and would end up a little slippery (like a leather footbed can get) - no problem with this. I also was concerned that the straps would be uncomfortable as they weren't leather and wouldn't offer any stretch/break-in - no problem here either thanks to the adjustability and fit guidance that comes on the box. I took these sandals on a recent vacation (in a hot, humid tropical climate) and they were the only shoes I ended up wearing. Very comfortable for walking around all day. No issues with sweaty feet or breaking-in. Dressy enough to wear at night with a casual summer dress. Needless to say, I will be searching this brand again next year when it comes time to buy my next pair of summer sandals.

Read the box top! Seriously: THANK YOU to the reviewer who pointed out that the instructions for adjusting the straps are inside the top of the box. Otherwise, I'd have just put them on, struggled, suffered, and probably given up. But since I knew where to look, it only took a minute to get them fitted to my feet. I've been wearing them around the house for the past hour and a half with none of the problems that others have reported--and my feet tend to be problem kids (flat, narrow, low-volume, with sensitive skin). I've bought several pairs of sandals this spring (Crocs, Bites, Keens, MBTs), and these are easily the most comfortable and supportive, as well as the most versatile. I can literally travel with just one pair of sandals, as these will look great with everything from swimwear to dresses. (Now I'm wishing I hadn't spent so much money on the others!) I wear a 7 1/2 and normally size up to an 8 for whole sizes, but this time went down to a 7, and they're perfect. As is Zappos service: I ordered these at about 4 PM yesterday and had them at 10:30 AM this morning. How do they do that????

Fantastic shoe! So much arch and heel support. I have wide B width feet and bunions and the fit is perfect, the straps comfortable and easy to adjust. No real drawbacks - just that when I need absolutely zero slippage I go to the ZX2 style since it has a back strap which I find more secure when I walk up and down on inclines with slippy or wet terrain. By the way - for all you Keen and Teva wearing folks out there - this sole is by far sturdier, more supportive, more anatomically correct and zero smell ever! Besides walks, hikes, beach and lake wear and after backpacking- rest shoes - I love these for gardening when it's ok to have my toes exposed (not when shoveling - for that I wear boots). But they are so stable that I can lift and twist and maneuver around well and they hose off beautifully.

Exactly what I needed! I have what I call "claustrophobic" feet. I like closed shoes to have lots of room despite having a fairly wide foot and I like my sandals to be a minimalist flip flop or slide-- definitely no back straps, but I like a lot of support and cushioning. I'm also pretty active and often find myself in a canoe or walking through a stream. Since I don't like back straps I wanted a thong for something for my toes to hold on to. At first the toe loop on the Zong weirded me out a bit, but I read from other reviewers that it can take a bit to get the straps right. I've been walking around the house for hours now and they're finally perfect. The footbed has substantial support and cushioning and I don't feel the straps anymore. I think I'll wear them to bed!

I bought these shoes hoping they could be comfortable daily shoes that I could also pass off as nice looking sandals for occasions when I felt like I should be wearing dress shoes. I've got to say - they do they job and overall I am very happy with them! The other reviews on this site are correct though -I spend some time yanking on the straps especially when I walk fast or uphill. I took them on vacation the 2nd week I had them and got a yucky blister but I was walking a lot (quickly and uphill). I've had them for a month now and the straps no longer move when I'm walking at a normal pace. So bottom line: Great, good looking day to day shoes that can go on slow walks - not your hiking or heavy walking shoes.

I\'m absolutely in love with these sandals. I\'ve had them for two years and wear them often. They\'re still in great shape after 2 years, but I\'m thinking about getting another pair in a different color. I hike rough terrain in these sandals, go kayaking in these sandals. I\'ve gotten them really dirty, but they still look great considering how long I\'ve worn them. The arch is a bit higher than I was used to, when I first wore the sandals, but after a day of getting the straps just right they were great. \r\n\r\nI\'ve got crisscross tan lines on my feet because I never wear any other shoes when I\'m outside in the summer.

These shoes do take a little getting used to! Yes, the strap system avails itself to multiple adjustments, but finding the right ones takes a lot of doing and re-doing (translated time & frustration). One moment, the toe is smashed, the next moment, the arch. The shoe bed is comfortable, although on long walks I find that the arch gets a little "pushy" (and that's from someone with a high arch that loves arch support). I will keep the shoe and trust that it will become even more comfortable as I get more used to it.

Once I got the straps to a good fit, I have to say I'm very happy with the Chaco Zong EcoTread. Sometimes I do slight adjustments in the morning as my feet are swollen, but all in all, I was looking for a durable shoe that could be drenched with water and not be the worse for wear. Traction is decent. Walking all day is comfortable as long as the straps aren't pinching my toes. Also: cute with pants, skirts, and shorts.

Yes. These are awesome. I needed a sandal with support because wearing flip-flops all the time was killing my knees. These have great support and I can wear them all day and be happy! I saw some people complained about the toe strap becoming too tight after walking, this happened a little at first, but theyve mellowed out and now the straps do a good job at staying in place. If only all my shoes fit this well...

I have very hard-to-fit narrow feet. An important detail not mentioned in the description is that the straps are completely adjustable - not just the cross-strap with the buckle, but all the straps are continuous and can be tweaked for a perfect fit. I was about to send these sandals back when I noticed the instrux on the inside of the box. These are very comfortable. I generally wear an 8.5, and the 8's are just fine.
