GOOD PURCHASE

I never had my own generator, so I couldn't give 5 stars for lack of expirience. But, I have to say that, ironically, I needed to use this generator the first month I had it due to power loss. Used it for 4 days in two main rooms of the house and powered my chest freezer, (2) 36" tube style TVs w/ Sat. boxes, lights 1 window A/C. I would turn off the A/C to use the microwave and/or toaster oven as needed. The unit is quiet and uses LESS gas then advertized. The 4 gal. tank lasted 1.5 days with all the above hooked up. Fridge food went into coolers, as the compressor switching off and on was a strain and did stall the unit. But, if I had less hooked up it would have been no problem. I added a small slab of wood with 4 caster wheels as a dolly. Moves easily, I wouldn't buy the wheel kit unless you plan to use it outside camping ect. By the way this unit periodically goes on sale for [$], Thats when I got mine. Put the cash saved towards an excellent warranty/replacement plan.

Can't go wrong

I purchased a Champion Generator about 5 years ago.I did a little research and bought it anyway. This generator has seen it all. Deer season running a cabin in Wis. to Northen Minn. fishing shack in -35 below zero. The only problem I have had was starting it while fishing in Minn while it was -35 below. With synthatic oil it still started hard but did. I did not leave it warm up enough before letting it run wide open. So cold the oil pushed out the Crankcase oil seal part way. Leaked oil until fixed it. tore it down and pushed seal back in place and have run for 3 years since than with no problems. Old gas will present a problem running my RV air conditioner. Fresh gas, no problem. It runs about 100 hours per year. 5 years and counting, cheap electric source.
