Holds it all without adding weight!

I run around a LOT with my kids and grandkids, and needed a bag that holds a lot of random stuff without adding too much weight to my much-experienced shoulders. I bought this bag in the purple color and it works very well. If it was my daily bag the lack of structure would annoy me, since I do have to dig around quite a bit, especially for the small heavy stuff, which sinks into obscurity in the bottom of the bag or weighs the one inside pocket down into a strange bulge. But since I use it to cram in all the usual stuff - wallet, cell phone, keys, "cosmetic" bag - and then add the baby's water bottle and binky, the old smartphone used for learning games, my packable ultra-light jacket, and the tickets, baby wipes and snacks needed for the day's outing - the lack of structure is actually an advantage. And when we acquire a new book, memento mug or handful of lovely pebbles, it all fits right in.

The simple shoulder strap, which you can tie at any point to fit your carry preference, is a real blessing. One day we even tied it around the waist of a small boy whose energy threatened to flame out the trip. He loved being the official pack mule and hauling the weight slowed him down quite a bit so the rest of us could keep up.

It would certainly be great too, as a small shopper to corral all the little bits and pieces of an "errand day." At the sale price, you really couldn't go wrong having one of these with you just in case!

Light Weight & Compact

Stumbled upon this and it was on sale. I got it in maroon color since I didn't know of the others. It's light weight, and easy to carry. Didn't find out it was capable of being folded to a small smush until I was on my trip. That was a plus! If you're a bigger person this cannot be a crossbody bag.. it will be up to your arm pit. Assuming the length is the same on all these bags, the other reviewers must be more petite in frame or smaller than myself. I'm 5'6 and big, so it's unfortunate I can't use it as a crossbody bag otherwise it would be perfect! If only they made it 5-6 inch or so longer and not cheap out on fabric...It would still be adjustable for smaller ladies, and would fit the bigger ones like myself. I wouldn't paying a few more bucks for an extension.

Versatile, lightweight travel purse

I recently traveled to Colombia and this purse was great! It is very lightweight and was able to accomodate everything I needed while traveling abroad. It has one small zippered pocket with a carabiner for keys. I don't know if the length of the strap has changed since that first reviewer wrote about it, but it fit comfortably across my body no problem. That is how I wore it for my entire trip. I would highly recommend this bag for a lightweight travel purse.

Perfect for the avid traveler!

I am a flight attendant and I pack this in my suitcase to take on my layovers. Packs into a tiny square. I don't like taking my expensive brand name purse around town. I can fit anything in here even three bottles of wine! It doubles as a shopping bag. It is hard to find my items in the deep large pocket, but it is highly durable and it goes across my body. I don't know why but I simply love it!

Great versatile bag

I am 5'4" and this works as a cross-body bag on me. If it is too short for you, I saw another commenter suggesting tying in a scarf or other fabric piece. Great for clipping onto my purse for shopping, then using to bring my purchases home, and it will be great on my next out-of-town trip. Seems well-made. I gave one as a gift and the recipient loved it, too.

Hobo Bag

This was a spur of the moment purchase. I was walking and saw something I wanted to purchase but needed an easy way to carry back on y long walk. This is small, fits in my small carry pack but expands quite large fro carrying items.

Great idea, but fell short

I am a mom and teacher and wanted to use this bag to carry every day items (odd and ends, little bit of groceries). This bag has be tied on top with its strap and would come undone easily.

Good purse for travel

I already own a few shopping bags from ChicoBag (the kind that you roll up into a pocket so you can keep it on your keyring or in your car for when you go grocery shopping). They're great at these little expandable bags, so I jumped at the chance with this purse. It's got a really neat expandable feature with two drawstrings on the sides (you loosen it to make the purse deeper).

The only problem I see, and in my opinion it is a fatal flaw that ChicoBag could easily fix, is that the shoulder strap is very short. They don't use D-rings; it's a very simple sash-type strap and you tie a knot to adjust the length of your shoulder strap. The problem is, at its longest, this is a standard shoulder bag; IT IS NOT A CROSSBODY. Given how large this purse can be, the folks at ChicoBag really need to add another 12-18 inches on the strap. That way it could be worn either as a shoulder bag or a cross-body.

I wound up returning mine. When you don't have a lot of weight in your purse, the shoulder strap tends to fall off the shoulder. The solution is to wear it as a crossbody but alas, you can't do that unless you want the purse to ride up near your armpit.

If/when they lengthen the shoulder strap, I will be giving this another try. Because otherwise, this is really one amazing and cute purse.

Inside seams fray and get stuck

All three colors are nice, but I picked the Turkish Blue because I could see through the fabric of the green one. I'm a petite 5', and although it's not listed as a crossbody bag, I am able to wear it comfortably that way. I usually have the sides cinched up, but occasionally I need to carry a little extra and it's convenient to be able to loosen up the sides for extra space. I carry a few pouches to keep stuff organized inside, otherwise it would be a bottomless pit trying to find something. The one big dislike I have is that there are two seams inside near the zipper that fray and frequently get stuck in the zipper. It looks bad, it's inconvenient, and it's a nuisance every time the zipper gets the frayed threads stuck in it. For a $30 shopping/everyday bag, I shouldn't need to take scissors to cut at frayed edges.
