Chrome Truk Pro -

Stiff and slick carbon-soled cycling shoes have their place, but running errands around town isn't one of them. That's why Chrome's Truk Pro Shoes strike a balance with comfortable, SPD-compatible shoes. So, when riding to the bar becomes equally important to racing, you won't be slipping around the floor or destroying your precious carbon.

Chrome's Truk Pro shoes are made from an almost identical fabric to what's used in its messenger bags — 1000 denier Cordura. As you probably know, this stuff is strong — like we've had the same Chrome bag for nine years strong. And aside from the upper material selection, Chrome made the whole shoe resilient to the day-to-day thrashings of urban riding. The sole is made from ultra-durable vulcanized rubber, and its also been made skid-resistant for riding or walking in all weather conditions. For the construction, Chrome used a board lasted sole to stiffen up the shoes and to eliminate the threat of hot spots.

Outside of Truk's commuter advantages, Chrome made them to be durable. The heel is protected from potential bails by a rubber heel cup, and the midsole is reinforced with a nylon/glass fiber shank. Truk's low-profile also makes it easy to get in and out of most SPD-compatible pedals.

The Chrome Truk Pro Shoes are compatible with most two-hole SPD cleats. They're available in odd and even sizes from 5.0 through 13.0 and in the colors Black and Grey.

Positive Reviews:

Great shoes. Easy to walk in and I almost never hear my cleats scratching on the pavement. I had a pair of DZR/Mission Workshop collaboration SPD sneakers before this, the Rondel. The DZRs looked better but the Truk Pros are MUCH stiffer, and better for walking. The toe is a little boxy, but that'll come in handy for thick socks once the weather gets colder. I'm not thrilled on all-black sneakers in general, but the performance of these is so great I highly recommend them.

These are medium-stiff and work great with clipless pedals. You can also walk around these in reasonable comfort.

Neutral Reviews:

Don't think you can get these and just use them as casual walking shoes...because of the hardware built in it feels like you're wearing those goofy "step-ups" shoes. Trying not to rag on them too bad, I should have known better.
