Clam Outdoors Jason Mitchell Thermal 5000 Ice Shelter Review:

My friends call it the Taj Mahal

Since i'm the first person to write a review on this product I'll be detailed. So far I've used it 3 times. Setup and take down was easy. I've not had any problems and it is easy to do solo. When I first opened it out of the box I noticed it was tied up inside the bag. It came with a couple of straps around it so that it would fit in the bag easily. This was an immediate concern of mine with this house. It hasn't been to bad but a larger bag would have definitively helped. When it is -20 and windy (Minnesota) I don't want to be fighting with this to get it back in the bag after a day of fishing. I've had problems in the past with clam houses with the windows cracking and the hubs getting stuck together when taking down which appear to be fixed in this house. The windows appear/feel more like a clear rubber than the cheap plastic they used to use. This is a great house for 3 people with a lot of extra room. 4 people this house would be tight when you include cameras/vexilars and a heater but It could be do able. Overall I'd give the house 5 stars. They loose 1 star for the bag.
