A peak shell that adapts to changes in weather or pace, this style comes streamlined with a trim hem, thin zips and a bulkless fit. Three pockets-one shoulder and two hand-stow daily extras, while flat interior seams reduce friction when worn over just a tank. A cleanly curved hip and solid or blocked colors elevate the visual impression.
Technology

The Cloudveil Inertia Peak Jacket has made it a staple in mountain scenes. InertiaPlus™ breathes deeply during activity, while a construction highlighted by bonded-and-sewn edges and stiffened cuff tabs proves impressively tough. Small details, such as a hem that cinches from inside and a mobile half-raglan silhouette, make for a more enjoyable alpine experience. A single chest pocket stows items when moving upward at a good clip.

Moving fast in alpine terrain requires the unrestricting stretch and durability of the Cloudveil Men’s Inertia Peak Jacket. This lightweight softshell features side stretch panels for increased air flow and movement, and three zippered pockets for holding your energy bars and topo map. From spring ski tours to blustery rock routes, the Intertia Peak has you covered.

Cloudveil's Inertia Peak jacket features Toray PrimeFlex stretch, water-resistant soft shell fabric with three-season comfort and remarkable resistance to snags, tears and abrasion.

Quality materials and design

| This is a functional quality softshell with an understated design that doesn't make you look like you should be rock climbing instead of browsing the produce section at the supermarket. If you understand the concept of a softshell, then you know they are all about keeping you reasonably protected from wind and rain while you decide the level of warmth through layering. Which brings me to the one con about the inertia peak jacket....the shoulders, chest and arms all fit me perfectly (6'1 170, got a medium) but the midsection seems to allow for a potbelly which I don't yet have. If Cloudveil had tightened the midsection just a couple inches then I would have given this jacket 5 stars. As it is, you can wear a fairly substantial fleece underneath as long as the arms don't bunch up too much. Overall impression is that this is a durable, cleanly designed jacket that can serve multiple uses and look pretty good while doing it. | |

| Great product if you know what you're getting. Lightweight, but durable & versatile. It's not going to replace your ski jacket & you'll be disappointed if you're expecting something warmer (like an Arc'terx Easyrider, Hercules, etc.), but it's a nice additional piece to have in the arsenal for warmer days. Very comfortable and easy to move around in. One thing to note is that, due to Cloudveil's "boxy" sizing, the jacket wears larger than the size marked by almost a full size. 5'11", 200lbs ..went with a medium and it fits perfectly, although could use about another inch or so in length ideally. I take a large in everything and was reluctant to size down, but I'm glad I did. Cloudveil medium fits approximately like an Arc'terx or Mountain Hardwear large. | |

Excellent Jacket for my Use
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I've used this soft shell so far trail running over a light merino baselayer. The baselayer was completely wet from perspiration, but the Inertia jacket never showed any moisture, & I stayed warm in high 20's/ low 30's temps. Wind blockage is not great, but breatheability is excellent. This jacket will be a good addition to my layering system. I'm 6'-1", 175lbs and the medium fits perfectly. Recommend this jacket as a lightweight, non-insulated top layer that will fit comfortably underneath a dedicated rain shell when needed. | |

quality soft shell | |

| Realy good looking soft shell. Very lightweight, blocks wind well. I like the soft material that lines the collar. Haven't tried it in the rain. They run about a size large - I normally wear a large, but a medium fit just right with enough room for a fleece underneath and not too bulky to add a waterproof jacket (Cloudveil Zoro LT works great) over it. | |

Just what I wanted! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I wanted a jacket that was able to do anything I do and this is it. I am comfortable wearing it on my daily commute (cycling) or out to dinner and everything in between. It was perfect on a chilly hike yesterday. It stopped the cold wind but allowed the right amount of breathability when things started to get warmer in the sun. Awesome! | |

very lightweight | |

| I first ordered an XL because I'm inbetween and XL and a L. I returned the XL and the L is perfect. My first opinion was that the jacket was too lightweight. After wearing it one time it is now my favorite. Looks great and very versatile. Can't believe something so light can keep you warm. I'd definately buy it again. | |

Super-stretchable | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I got this for cycling--the fabric is very stretchable and also incredibly water-resistant--water simply slides off! Collar is very soft and high, perfect for my long neck while cycling. It compresses into a compact mass, suitable for stuffing into a saddle bag. Finally, the red color is very rich and intense, makes it highly visible except in low light. | |

Soft shell is great | |

| Really like the jacket as it can be worn in a variety of conditions, 30 degrees and higher. Was concerned with the green color since it is hard to tell from the computer what it really will look like but I really like it. Looking forward to using it next year on a ski trip. | |

Great jacket but runs a bit large
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Really like this jacket, had to return the first one I ordered as they tend to run a full size large. Fit is excellent once you have the right size and it's comfortable buy itself at around 35 degrees and up. Slightly wind proof but not completely. | |

Great for what it is | |

| This is a great shell. It is not warm on it's own however. It truely is a shell and has no insulation of it's own. With an insulating layer under it is very breathable and sheds water quite well. All in all a nice soft shell. | |

expensive t-shirt | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| After seeing softshells in stores and on friends I decided to purchase one. This thing ia a piece of junk. Its basically just a bunch of stretchy t-shirt type cloth sown together with bulky seams inside. A thermal underwear top would be more comfotable and just as warm. If you just want the jacket for looks its not bad. Otherwise...junk. | |

Jacket sadly peaked my inertia

| Nice enough jacket but fails in comparison to the Cloudveil Switchback jacket. Biggest problem was minute size of front pockets. Also, seems cut for a thin physique so it may be best to order up a size if you don't have a metrosexual male model build. | |

Not what I thought it was, sent it back.

| Very thin and light jacket. Based on description thought it would be heavy enough for skiing in Colorado but was disappointed and returned the item. | |
