Coal Frena Light Beanie Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I just started wearing Coal beanies this winter and have been super happy with them. The FLT is awesome because it has a fine knit and is super lightweight, but also more than warm enough. It is very versatile in that you can wear it normally for the resevoir tip look, or you can fold the bottom up and double it up for a more standard look. Either way looks great. I definitely recommend this hat for anyone looking for a comfy and good looking beanie.

If you love the Coal Frena but you want a beanie thats not so thick and toasty get one of these. This has everything that you love about the Frena in a lightweight beanie. This is great if your looking at going downtown or shredding in spring time. I will even wear this on occasion in the summertime. And did I mention it comes in every out of control color you could want.

A lot of acrylic beanies make my head itch to no end! This one however seems to fit perfectly on my head with tons of comfort! It's the perfect size for under the helmet, or just for casual wearing. You can't go wrong with this beanie, plus they have so many color options! If you are wearing it everyday, it obviously will stretch out a little after a lot of use.

I bought this for myself as a Christmas Gift (i've been really good this year to me) and i'm very pleased so far. As other reviews have said, its very soft and comfy and lightweight. But, it's still a good, solid beanie. I am very pleased with the styling - Coal makes nice, clean, elegant beanies. Nothing too gaudy.
I'll probably end up buying a few more!

As someone who is constantly giving herself bad haircuts, I have a bit of a beanie hoarding problem. I love Coal beanies, and I like this one because it's simple, comfortable, and lightweight. A great unisex beanie. Went with athletic blue and will probably be back for more.

Great everyday beanie from waking up in the morning to trips to the hill, and walks around town. Still heavy enough to keep your head warm when it's a bit windy, but not that warm that you can't be comfortable in it all day at work.

Yes, soft, comfy, perfect slouch, and great all around. It's thin and flexible, but has a tight weave; good for all but the gnarliest weather, colors are great too!

I've worn neff beanies for a while now but I decided to give coal a try and I'm glad I did. Light, warm and holds it's shape well.

Good thin beanie for wearing under a ski helmet, or when you just don't need a super warm hat. Nice colors and very comfy.

I like softer lighter beanies that you can wear all day without getting that itchy head feel. This one does the job perfectly

Negative Reviews:

I have rocked several Coal Frena classics in the past and have considered myself a Coal customer. The Frena's stood up to some incredible winters overseas and were really great hats, I still have them and wear them. I'm a fan of Coal.
THIS HAT, however, is a piece of crap. I'd try to be more descriptive, but I don't know how. It lasted one week before massive holes appeared on the top of the hat and the stitches running down the side started ripping apart.
No, I wasn't climbing with it, or wearing it on the mountain, or doing anything. I was just wearing it. It lasted one week and literally fell apart. I sent Coal pictures, a description, etc. Coal refused to send me a different type of hat for free unless I paid the price difference between the new hat and the Frena Light. They have basically lost me as a customer, not that it's a big deal as I buy a Coal hat once every two years.
Stay away from this piece of junk - buy the regular Frena or buy something from another brand.
Attached is a picture of the hat after two or three days of wear around a city.
