Great Survival Item | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The whistle is a very good whistle and is very loud. People would be able to hear it and come to help you. It also has a storage compartment, which you could use for matches or you could store other things in it. The signal mirror on the cap, beneath the compass, is a great idea for signaling for help. This would be a great gift to give a kid that loves to be outside. Just enough features to make it easy to find him/her and easy to carry. | |

Do not rely on this to save your life.

| I haven't yet taken this product into the wilderness, fortunately. The whistle and compass on mine both do not work. The flint is somewhat questionable but could prove useful in a real pinch. The waterproof match container in itself could be invaluable, though, if things got real hairy. There's also a small mirror on the inside of the cap to the match container that could be convenient as well. Overall, I'd look for another product, if I were you. | |

Don't rely on the compass
| Rating: | ![]() |
| You can't really ask much for the low cost of this item, but if you ever need to rely on this item for survival, it may let you down. My compass doesn't work properly, and the flint doesn't hold up to use. The whistle is adequate and the compartment is watertight. I would suggest getting all these features in separate items. You'll pay a bit more, but the quality will be worth the marginal increase in cost. | |

Princess and the pea | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This whistle has a pea in the whistle which jostles while walking. You won't notice it when you buy it, but after a while, it becomes very irritating. The product would've been perfect without that pea! | |

It could be worse | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| It is pretty good because the compass and other features work well, but the flint and whistle don't work. The whistle is really easy to over blow. However,it is a good place to keep matches. | |

A good combination | |

| A very decent product for the cost, has always kept my matches dry, the compass works (surprisingly), and the whistle is loud. All in all a good survival tool. | |
