Cole Haan Astoria Ballet Reviews:

Love the shoes! The color is beautiful, it's purple-ish pink red...sorry I can't really describe it. To me, it's subtle yet not dull. I ordered 5 in medium, and they fit perfectly! With flats I always wear 5M. But normally with other brands (especially the good ones) if I order 5M, my toes on right foot (my right foot is bigger) will feel a little squeezed. But this pair fit just right. So I think they are a little bigger 5M, comparing to most of other good brand's 5M. Buying shoes are tricky but I'm very happy with these shoes. The toe box isn't too round or too pointy, just the way I like how it should be. I read a review somewhere saying the metal at the heel looks cheap...I disagree. I think it looks about what you pay for, not superb like Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo , but definitely not cheap. I guess it's just subject to personal standard and taste. Anyway, I like them very much. If they happen to stretch out too much after a few month, like one previous reviewer says, I'll just put padding inside. That should take care of it.

Astoria is lovely, not nearly as red/orchid pink as the photo. The quality and fit of the shoe is superb, so I will not ding it for anything - but my foot anatomy simply won't allow the shoes to work for me. The edge of the throat at the vamp on the right foot puts pressure across a surgically sensitized area with each step. I tried several periods of break to see if wear might change this issue, but it did not, therefore I mus reluctantly return the shoes. It is too bad because Cole Hahn does a fantastic job on their shoes. I loved the higher heel and arch support of this style.

This is a gorgeous, classy shoe: it has a slender appearance with a toe that's neither too pointed nor too round. The gold detail surrounding the heel extends out on either side and is a subtle statement that this shoe has been thoughtfully designed. There's even a bit of arch support, something rarely included in most flats. This shoe is very comfortable to wear and is a definite keeper.

This shoe is a great flat to have in your clothing arsenal. The lines and style are classic. The shine is somewhat muted compared to the photo but still acceptable. The hidden arch is a dream for those who suffer in ballet flats (which most do). They are tailored enough to go from day tonight. Lovely with skirts and smart with cigarette pants or straight leg jeans.

These shoes looks great but they stretch out so easily! I ordered my normal size and now, a couple months later, they slide off my feet like nobody's business. I accidentally kicked my shoe at a colleague's suitcase today. Order at least a half, if not a full size, down.
