Nice size

It is hard to describe this item as a gardening tool as it is a bit on the small size for that purpose although it could be used for planting bulbs. I purchased it to wear on my belt while hunting or camping. It is of a very convenient size and seems to be very well put together. I used to have a similar one that was somewhat smaller, not as well built and didn't come with a case. Although I had to carry it in my pack it was useful digging small holes for sanitary reasons while bushwhacking and camping. This one is much more convenient as it fits my big hands better and has the aforementioned case with a belt loop

cheaper than similar models

Comparing to similar products from higher end companies this is a great price and durable. The first time I unfolded it I couldn't get the handle to unlock. I had to use pliers. After unlocking and locking the handle several times it started working fine. For the price I think it was an excellent buy.

Also, Campmor seems to think this is a gardening tool. I am pretty sure this is designed to be used the way I use it: when backpacking I find a secluded spot to dig a hole and hope what I plant does not grow!

Hand Trowel

It's a little heavy for backpacking if you are trying to count ounces but being metal you can use it to move the coals around in the fire for the pefect place to bake a potoato.
Then later it can be used to dig a decent cat hole when Mother nature Calls.
4 stars since 5 is perfect and few things are perfect but this is really worth 4 stars

Well Made Coleman Shovel

This is a well made shovel. It works well for backpacking as it is light, strong, and compact. It cost less than other brands and was useful to bury waste, and douse campfires. Too bad Coleman is getting rid of the Exponent Brand. Get it now while you can.

I bought it for hiking and backpacking. I haven't used it yet but should work as advertised.

In my pack and ready!

I haven't used it yet but have not doubt it will perform when I do.

Neat Little Shovel

Neat little folding shovel for hiking and bugout kits. A little heavy, but very sturdy.

Sooner or later you'll need one of these

More durable than the plastic ones and less expensive than other brands.

Hand Shovel

Constructed of very solid material but once it is "locked" open it is very difficult to unlock and refold.
