Fast and Easy!!

So my mother has the coleman coffee pot that goes on top of the stove, which takes forever when you have to brew a full pot for everyone. Well, I am the difficult one that only drinks decaf, so I either have to wake up before everyone else and get my one mug in, or wait til everyone has had their cup of joe to make mine. My mom bought this for me as a gift and I just took it out on its first trip last weekend. AWESOME! She is now jealous. Not only can I brew a full pot faster than her's does half a pot, I don't need the stove to do it. The instant start is easy to use but beware and warn your fellow campers not to touch the bottom cuz you cant see it, but there is a burner there!! Which means the outside is flaming hot!! Sorry mom, guess you wont touch it again, huh? Highly recommend if you are the luxury camper such as myself, but keep it out of reach of the little ones so they don't accidentally reach up and touch it, and out of reach of grandmas too I suppose.

Best Addition to our Camping Gear!

We received this from my Best Man as an early wedding gift. We always drink coffee and used to have to heat up the water, then drain through a strainer into a nalgene. It worked ok for 1 or 2 glasses here and there. But then friends wanted coffee too and it got to be tedious. This solves that problem. We didn't realize it would get so hot on the bottom, so we ended up melting the table cloth underneath. Also, the labels on the side of the unit start to warp and shrink. Not a huge deal to us. We have used this for a year now quite frequently and have not had any problems. I kind of wish there was at least a see through window on the carafe so you can see how much is in there, but it's not really a useability issue.
