Positive Reviews:

Great tent if you dont use it alot.

If you aren't spending the night in this alot i would highly recommend buying this! I've used this on a week long trip and spend about 3 days a week living out of this in the mountains. Picked it up because it was so cheap and i planned on buying a new tent soon at the time since i figured this would be just as good as it's price. However, this tent has held up great! I have had it through storms with no leaking although the tent does twist and rattle alot during heavy winds or storms but has always keep the water out great! The sides do tend to get damp so if you are leaning up against them your bag will get a little damp but really nothing to worry about. I've had this out over 50 days and it is just finally starting to get little holes from using it so much. I won't be buying it again because i need something that will last me longer but if you arent using this every weekend i would buy it in a heartbeat! The last thing that i would like to add is that i spent 7 days on a climbing trip with another person and a whole bunch of gear and there was plenty of room. This could fit 3 people and there packs pretty snug. Buy it if you aren't spending every weekend on the road!

Great tent for the price

I am a motorcycle tourer/camper and have used this tent for the past three years. For the price it has been more than worth it. It packs down nicely on the bike, yet sets up easily and there is plenty of room for me and all of my gear. I have spent some time in some heavy rain storms in the tent with not a drop of water leaking inside. The mesh roof is nice for the ventilation but may be too cool for camping in colder climates. All in all I certainly recommend this tent to anyone looking for a tent to use for motorcycle or card camping.

Repeat customer

I bought one of these several years ago and have spent many nights in it. I have used it in rain and cold (well 25 degree) and have never been disappointed. It is not as good as a $250-$300 tent but it is exceptionally good for the price you pay. The tent is a little heavy for backpacking but it is not bad for hiking a mile or two. Because of my positive experiences with the original tent, this purchase was for 2 new ones as gifts to my daughters and their spouses who want to start camping.

It is a coleman!!!!! Nuff said

I have 4 coleman tents and they all work well for Boy Scout camping, Light, easy to set-up. I dont use in extreme weather, but for slight winds and light rain you just cant beat these things. My 9 year old sets this up with minimal help. I do recommend a ground cover and an $8 tarp for added piece of mind if it is going to rain.

Good value

I purchased three of these for our Scout Troop. Have only used them once so far, but they set up easily and were actually large enough to accommodate three (large,16 year old) campers and their gear! I expect they will serve us well for years to come.

BoyscoutTroop terrfic value and durable

Our Boy Scout Troop currently owns 30 of these tents. For the money it would be hard to find a better value. These are especially good for the younger scouts. As the adventure becomes more challenging the older scouts want their own lighter personal equipment.

My son-in-law and my grandson wants to fish all night so I bought us a tent(coleman) to sleep in and a smaller one to put our gear in. It just worked out perfect. If you don't have a camper, this is the ideal situation.

Coleman Sundome 3 7' X 7'

Overall this tent is okay. I went through a heavy downpour the first time with no leaks. The main weakness is the stake-down rings—they bend out of shape very easily. I have since added carbiners to the stake loops.

easy to set up and very compact

We flew to alaska and wanted to camp for a couple of days in Denali but we were also touring so we needed a light weight compact tent and this did the trick

Good Buy for the Price

Basically a well rounded tent, I used for my company in Puerto Rico. Good for amateurs and expirienced alike. Awesome for camping but little heavy for backpacking. I bought 6 of them...

Negative Reviews:

Just plain inexpensive dry weather tent

Terrible moderate wind/heavy rain handling! As a matter of fact I was using this tent for good 5 years (buying this tent new every year) and was happy with it,up until the time when we went for a 3 day car camping to Delaware Water gap. I knew we are going into a rainy weather, and i thought we are OK, especially with inflatable queen size bed inside our tent(s). Thinking, that ,even if it leaked- my queen size inflatable mattress inside will stay afloat keeping me and my significant other dry. Wrong! The tent(s) survived day 1 of raining, but in the middle of the night we woke up ALL Wet, cold, and angry, despite the evening heavy "Russian style drinking". In theory, there is no such as thing as "bad camping", there can be just not enough vodka, but it's only our "Russian Thing". So, This tent completely failed under heavy rain and moderate wind conditions. For next two days i was scooping out water one-to-three times a day. Well, was it a condensate or leaks, but it was dripping at us from all over the top... in both (identical tents).Bottom line: It is a very inexpensive car camping tent for a good weather trips. Spacious enough to comfortably accommodate 2 people with queen size bed, and then some space for gear( a foot wide and a tent long).Heavy for backpacking, and definitely not good for medium -to-heavy rain conditions!

This tent only lasted six months because the materials and workmanship are shoddy. The front of the polyethylene floor disintegrated and shredded (this is cheap plastic tarp material like you see at the auto parts store). The nylon at the door ripped in several places and when it rains water gets in the front and sides of the tent. Coleman does NOT stand by their warranty and says it does not cover UV damage to the tent. This tent is only good for the once-a-year camper; our "serious" tent is going strong and the Coleman tent is trash. I will never buy a cheap tent again. You get what you pay for.

Good disposable tent

Bought this for Boy Scouts... Poles didn't fit right and stitching poor. But, the price was right and the kids could pitch them by themselves. It barely fits three scouts.

Neutral Reviews:

Lots of good features, except for.....

Great to have four screen sides for hot climates. It needs inside zip cover to close the side screens during cold or foul weather. The fly needs to come further down the sides. Heavy winds push the rain up under the short fly and into the open screens. Love the d-shape door and peak style of the fly. Handy inside top loop and side pockets. Back vent aids circulation.

Good Enough

I bought several of these for boy scout use in fair weather. I wanted something that was inexpensive and simple to set up. This model tent fits both requirements. I know from experience that they last several years with moderate scout use.

I did find that I occasionally have to trim the poles to fit right, but they otherwise work right out of the box.
