Good Family Tent

We purchased this tent after researching both online and in store. We have been camping for recreation and hunting for years. We were looking for a tent for a family of four big enough to hold a king size air matress, cot and playpen. This tent holds it all with enough room for gear as well. Features we like about this tent (and why we chose it over others) are the doors and room divider. There are two doors (front and back of the tent) which gives you more options in where you set it up. One door also has a pole which can be optionally added to create a swinging door and it velcros closed or zips. These are great features, especially for families. The only negative thing is there are 3-4 zippers for the door which gets confusing and difficult to find the right one in the dark. We do not use the room divider and therefore like that it is completely removable. Another tent we considered purchasing had a canvas panel on the floor to attach the room divider and we were worried we would trip over it.

As far as weatherproofing, I read reviews descriding concerns. When camping in a nylon tent, if it rains we always expect to get wet. We put a tarp both over and under our tent to help. We have camped with it uncovered during light rains and it did not leak. Our last trip was with other families and we encountered heavy rains. None of the other 3 tents there were covered with tarps and all leaked. Ours did not. I would always recommend covering any tent during rain and since ours was covered, I can't say if this tent leaks when directly rained on in heavy storms. I can say we are pleased with it.

Best Tent EVER

I have camped a ton over the last 15 years or so, including an Army tour. I have used and broken many tents in all kinds of weather. I was sick of buying a new tent every few years so I researched tents and bought this one.
I can set it up by myself completely in about 20 min to include tying down the rainflap. It is so sturdy with the metal poles and the many tie down rings all over the tent. It also allows for a lot of air to flow through, which is nice. I am about 6' and can stand easily. We have 4 kids and this tent is more than enough. I love it!
The only thing I would recommend (as with all big tents) is to make sure the rain flap is pulled tight to avoid the natural rain catcher part catching rain. That, and I sprayed a waterproofer on the sides of the tent and have had no problems with water. If all the tie down points are properly utilized, I cannot see anything below 50 mph winds messing with it.
I am super pleased with this tent. It seems well built and should last us a long time.

Great family tent

Have tent camped for 40+ years, in all types of weather. Debated if this tent was too big. Then decided, one of the biggest problems when camping with our kids was what to do in very cold or wet weather. We now move indoors! We have ample room for a small table, our camping chairs & can fix sandwiches, eat, play cards & games. We take a box of rainy time crafts as well. This tent held up with 3 inches of snow,it slid off the top. Our grown kids wished we had this tent back in their day & the grandkids, all ages, love to camp. We love being able to stand up & move comfortably in there. A must have for any size family.

Great Tent

This tent was very roomy. had a full queensize double tall coleman bed and had plenty of room left in the tent. I was camping during monsoon season in an area where we got quite a bit of rain. During a heavy downpour (with hail) the cover leaked a tiny bit, but did not leak during any other rain storm. I would suggest that you put seam seal on the tent before you take it camping, but I didn't find it necessary. I loved that you could keep the end windows open while it was raining so that you still could see out and still had good air flow. All in all, this was a great tent!

EXcelnt Tent No Leaks for 2 Rainy Nights

Bought this to take my Girl Scout Brownies on thier first tent camping experience. It rained (Thunder - Lightning) both nights with very little water leakage. 8 girls fit in the tent with some room left for gear. The girls can't wait to camp again - that says it all. I was very pleased with this tent. I was able to set it up, with the help of the girls pretty easily (would take at least two to set up).

Great product

I purchased this tent for our teams use at the 2011 Relay for Life fundraising event. It was easy to setup and even easier to breakdown. Everyone slept comfortably though the max count in the tent at one time was 8. Nine could sleep comfortably but ten might be a little tight. I love the dual entrances and the breeze that flowed in during the day. I really like this tent and so do my kids.

My Husband and I purchased this tent because we needed more room. Even though there are only two of us we needed the extra space. The tent is big enough for all of our things and easy to walk around in. Set up was easy and my Husband even set it up by himself, but a lot easier with two people, but it is possible.

Worth the money

I bought this for large youth events. 10 would definately be pushing it, but 5 stayed in it with plenty of room for all their gear. 7 would be a good number comfortably, unless their kids. It is the "old" metal pole design, not tension bars with fiberglass. I had it set up in 15 minutes. Note: DO STAKE IT DOWN FIRST!

Negative Reviews:

We have been camping for 10 years and have had good luck with Coleman products, including our first tent. On our first trip with this tent it leaked so badly in a moderate rain storm we have decided to return it. Within 30 minutes water bagan seeping through the rain fly and sides of the tent and was dripping on us as we tried to sleep. By 2am we had to go out in the storm to cover the tent with a tarp. We really liked the design (especially the door) but will be getting something else as this tent isn't even wter resistant.

Not a Wind Master

We used this tent on a group trip to Michigans U.P. We had some wind, wich is expected, and given the description of the "Weathermaster" thought it would be up for the job. We were wrong, it folded and broke when all our other tent camping friends tents held together. We ended up in a hotel spending much more than we had anticipated. The door is also difficult to use, always getting the zipper caught up in the material. It is a neat looking door and good concept, but needs some better engineering.

Beware of using Weathermaster 10 in Wind

Do not buy the Coleman Weathermaster 10 tent if you might be in windy conditions. Wind (not a hurricane)seriously bent the metal poles & a black loop on bottom corner of tent was completely ripped off! We had to take our tent down at 3:30am & sleep in the car! All the other tents in the campground survived the wind fine!

zero rain resistance

We put extra waterproofing on the fly and seams and with the first rainstorm we had rain dripping in all over the tent. The only way to waterproof this tent was with a tarp. I do like the screened in area.

something to stay up through the summer

This is to stay up all summer near our cabin for extra room. I like the roominess and the headroom. It was REDICULOUSLY difficult to assemble. The instructions made no sense at all. But it seems OK so far.
