perfect tent for a great price

OK this is gonna be long. i love campmor. although i didn't buy my Coleman weather master 6 from them. ( i do a lot of backpacking and buy most if not all my light gear from them )ok so this tent is for my wife and i to car camp. yes its a large tent for 2 but when car camping we are comfort driven. queen size cot with air mattress. table, lamp, stove, chairs, cloths, bikes, kayaks, food, you get the point. everything fits in the tent ( no not the kayaks ) and the bikes go in screen room. i was in the process of seam sealing the tent when a storm rolled in for over an hour with really high winds, the tent stayed put. however the seams under the window with the gear pockets leaked ans did the swing door. it leaked alot. the fly is seamed taped so it did not leak but i seam sealed it anyway. after sealing all the seams. it didn't leak even after the next 6 rain storms we had. it stayed dry. ( seal the seams ). i also threw out all the cheap short plastic stakes and bought 12 inch steel stakes ( 20 ) of them. i also got rid of the small Shepard stakes. 20 stakes are alot but use everyone that is needed. i cut a piece of tyvec for a foot print. ( do not extend it to the screen room ) the screen room is good for storing containers, plastic tubs. and as a mud room for shoes. i have read complaints about the entrance at the screen room because only the screen is zippered at the bottom. i solved this problem by using a few small Velcro strips. the ventilation in this tent is really nice but if you get the model ( as i did ) without the rear port the air flow is above your bed without a fan u will sweat. im considering sewing an A/C collar on the tent. however with the ceiling completely open ( its all screen ) A/C may not work. we have put a easy up over the screen room and this greatly reduces the amount of rain that gets in. Coleman is and has always been a great brand. however it sells alot of entry level gear. do your research before you buy. if you have an issue call them and they will either advise you on what to do. or replace whats wrong. and if you complain they will sent you free stuff. go camping enjoy you time in the woods.

worked out great!

I recently went on a week-long camping trip and needed a larger tent because this is the first with our son, who's 11-months old. We needed a larger tent to accommodate his pack-n-play.
I bought this because it was relatively inexpensive and was very surprised at how well it held up. We had a huge storm one afternoon it was literally raining sheets of water. As we sat in our car and eventually drove someplace else without trees, I fully expected all of our gear to be wet and that we would be sleeping in a hotel that night. The rain lasted about 1hr and afterwards , I was happy (and surprised) that there was only a tiny leak from a seam near a window. The entire amount of water that had pooled on the floor of the tent was sopped up with just one paper-towel.

The tent was also comfortable in that i could stand up in it and the divider inside meant that my son could sleep on one side and we could be awake on the other without waking him up.

For the price, this tent is excellent!

Love this tent but the rainfly design

I use this tent mainly for car camping. I love the size, it fits our family well (five kids-two dogs). I love the screened in porch, although I wish their was an option for having walls roll down in the event you wanted it for more space or weather. I noticed several cosmetic issues, fabric sewn together over top of another not allowing me to put all poles in the clips. The fly is at first glance a good design but I've gotten wet twice in this tent and that is unacceptable. You shouldn't have to buy a $20 blue tarp to put over your $300 tent to have it be waterproof after only a year of light use. I love the door design.

Only used it once so far, seemed pretty good. Weather was fair, so not really battle tested yet. We'll see how well the ground cover holds up. Recommend a second one if you can spare the car space.

Good family tent

We are active with Girl and Boy Scouts and needed a tent for the family. We live in Belgium where it rains a lot. The tent needs two adults set it up, and you need to really use every tie out on the fly to make it work well. In hours of rain, we found the tent leaks through the fly and where the fly water runs off hitting the side of the tent. The floor did not leak even though there was a mini pond underneath at the end of the storm. If you expect rain, take an extra tent sized water proof tarp to put over the tent. It is otherwise a good tent, in that it is spacious, comfortable and affordable.
