| This is a tent we use for outdoor camping at campgrounds... We did do the seams with waterproofer, but always cover it with tarp anyway if rain comes, but the floor is great and has never leaked. Condensation does form inside, under the right conditions, but you really can't prevent that with people breathing inside...:) especially under rainy conditions. Basically, the bottom is made of tarp material. We've had our share in the rain with this tent. All in all, money well spent. We usually cover with a tarp under really bad conditions ( seems we have bad luck with weather) so, if you're the type of person who prepares for the worst, and intends on using a tarp with rain just in case your tent does leak and you don;t want to take any chances, this tent serves the purpose quite well. Nothing's busted on it yet...so very durable, even with kids. More like a 4-5 person tent. We sleep 5; 2-3 Adults and/or 2-3 kids and it leaves room for gear. 6 would be tight against the sides and you don't want that. All in all, save yourself some cash; buy a heavy duty tarp AND this tent, and between the both of them, they will keep you dry...top to bottom. We bought it at 50 % off, so it was a great deal...add another 20 bucks for the tarp and you've got yourself a waterproof system for alot cheaper than some of these other tents which claim to be waterproof. Any good camper knows that a tarp is an invaluable item if you want to stay dry. Why pay exorbent amounts of $$ for tents that claim to be dry, when you can make ANY tent dry for the price of a tarp? well, that is if the floor doesn't leak! And this one's floor doesn't leak!!!! | |
