Perfect in so many ways

I can see that I'll be able to wear this pant much more than planned; though I've not yet "sink-washed and worn" them, I am sure they'll be great during my travels. Today I'm wearing them around the house, doing chores, etc. I expect I'll be able to wear them to work in my casual environment, too. SO nice to have a 32" length and the fit is "formed" but not snug or tight, fabric hangs well and doesn't cling, hang up or show every lump or curve :-) though the fabric is light-to-mid weight. I think they'll also keep the chill off as well, though the fabric weight isn't substantial or heavy; we'll see. Very comfortable and easy to move around in as well as nice, clean styling and lean lines. The "waist" is not true to size as it's slightly large but that is because this pant is styled and shaped to sit slightly below the natural waist - the fit aroung the hip area is good also; all in all a well-shaped fit. I am 5 ft 7" and 130 lbs with long legs and I am very happy with this pant.

Perfect pants, just right indeed

I was looking for a pair of pants to take on a several day backpacking trip to the Hoh rainforest. I am 5'7, around 200 lbs, with skinny legs and a big rear and tummy, so it can be hard to find pants that have enough give, but still don't fall right off. These pants have an amazing stretch, but the seaming in the seat of the pants is perfect so they don't just shimmy right off.
I like the buttom and tie closure, the tie has stretch as well.
If you are looking for pockets, look elsewhere, there is a single pocket on the leg. Overall, the pants are amazing for a plus size lady who likes to hike around in comfort.

Comfy and awesome!

I work with chocolate, and when I got these, I was looking for something that would be comfortable, and not look too bad once it got hit with chocolate a few times. While I'm not the messiest person in my department, chocolate has gotten on these, and it washed right out! I checked off that the pants feel too long, but being 5'1" that's usually true for me :) The only way these could get any better would be by adding a cargo pocket on the right side, as the current design has only one small zippered pocket on the left thigh that just fits my cell phone.

Buying my third pair

I LOVE these pants! I'm 5'5", 150 lbs. and size 10 is perfect. I've gotten many compliments on them...the front seam makes them look a bit more stylish than other pants in this category. I bought them for travel and hand washing them works great. Good for walking around, hiking, and restaurants.

Best thing about them though is how comfortable they are. And not too hot or cool.

I personally don't like lots of pockets in pants...I think they look too casual. The side pocket on these is just right for holding glasses, spare $, a key, eyc.

Great hiking pants

These pants are great. Very breathable and extremely comfortable to hike in. I wore them when I went hiking in Olympic National Park and at Mt. Rainier.

Two minor cons - only one pocket and these pants do not have belt hoops. There is a drawstring to tighten them.

This is the probably the best product I have. Its soo comfortable! I wear it all the time. Its light and just perfect for exercise or even or regular day. Definitely recommend this! wouldn't regret it !!

Great pants - weird waist string tie

Great fit & comfort! The string tie inside waistband is not close enough to the snap & doesn't cinch waistband properly. Have other hiking pants that tie much more comfortably. Still love, love, love the pants!

Great hiking pants!

Great lightweight pants for hiking. They are water resistant which really came in handy when I was caught in the rain. I love these pants!
Only con: I wish I had another pocket.

Really Love These Pants

These are really comfortable pants. I now have three pairs and will probable buy more in different colors when available. This only con is that there is only one pocket.

Negative Reviews:

Waist stretches too much

The main reason I returned these pants is that the useless elastic drawstring in the waistband, which one is supposed to use to tighten the waistband, is made from the same elastic fabric as the pants and, therefore, easily stretches to double its length when tied into a bow. This makes it impossible to pull the waistband in to snugly fit one's waist. Without using this cord, the waistband itself stretches enough to allow the pants slip down a bit and feel uncomfortable.

The single small thigh pocket is too small to hold anything more than flat bills or a key without unsightly bulging.

Just wrong!

Tried these on in store - the material looked so promising. The sizing is a disaster - waist is huge, beyond what the drawcord can mitigate (my waist size is 25 and I tried on the smallest size available - 2). The pant legs are also way too short, with the fitted knee ending up at my lower thigh (I am 5'81/2") - please somebody make some pants for tall and slim girls too!

Neutral Reviews:

Small at the bottom of legs but comfy

I'm using these pants in Iraq due to the hot weather. I had to take them to the tailor and have the bottoms cut because they seem to be so much smaller at the bottom and I like my pants to fit over the tops of my hiking boots. Once I had the tailor put a slit in them they were really long- but then I noticed in the tag that it says the length is 36.
I also have to wear thongs or else my panty lines are visible to everyone. (cotton briefs tend to be best in 120F+ temps)
The single pocket is very frustrating, but if you're just taking a day hike and need a key/credit card and ID you'll be fine- otherwise you'll need to carry a bag of some sort.
They fit is good and they are comfortable.

I'm 5'6" and 130 and ordered a size 4. I'm athletically built.

Good for mild weather hikes

Got these for my girlfriend to wear hiking in Cinque Terre, Italy. She thought they were comfortable, light weight, and good for the mild weather we had on the trip. They kept her dry in light rain, but soaked through in certain spots when the rain got heavier. Her biggest complaint was that they only had one pocket. Otherwise a solid buy for mild weather in the spring or fall.

good pants but don't ruche them much

I got these on sale, since I love the capri version of the Columbia pants. But the ruching only on the outside is a bit odd -- adds a little style, used in moderation, but it is useless for shortening, since the long inside inseam hangs down limply and looks silly. So they can only be reasonably worn as long pants, which makes them less functional in warm weather.
