Columbia Sportswear Millennium Flash Shell Jacket -

Some shells have the mobility of a brand new pair of cowboy jeans, which is to say they are stiff as can be. You need a jacket that can move with you, which is good, because the Columbia Men's Millennium Flash Shell Jacket is made with premium King Stretch material. King Stretch boasts 14% elastane so you get maximum mobility and range of motion during your most demanding runs. This lightweight jacket also provides storm protection with its Omni-Tech membrane and fully taped seams. To keep some of your heat in without the bulk of insulation, Columbia used its Omni-Heat thermal reflective lining. You'll want to layer up underneath, though, on frigid midwinter days.

Pull up the adjustable, helmet-compatible storm hood when the wind starts blowing ice across your face, and then unzip the underarm vents when the sun comes out or you're starting to heat up from mogul runs. Remove the powder skirt when it's storming downtown and you want to stay dry without the excess powder-skirt waist-bulk. Stash your goods in the multiple pockets, and utilize the inside pocket to keep your MP3 or goggles protected.

Weather and Wind:

  • Exterior waterproof zippered pockets at hips and chest keep pocket contents dry
  • Omni-Tech membrane, fully taped seams
  • Removable powder skirt keeps snow from getting up inside
  • Waterproof zip-closed pockets

  • Watertight front zip with internal storm flap and zip guard
  • Zip-out powder skirt

  • Interior goggle, phone, and ski pass pockets
  • Two interior security pockets with media port

  • 4-way comfort stretch fabric and articulated elbows for increased range of motion
  • Drawcord adjustable hem cinches to seal out cold air
  • Nylon, elastane shell with stretch panels

Lining and Layers:

  • Omni-Heat thermal lining reflects heat back toward your body so you stay warm

  • Pit zips for ventilation
  • Underarm venting
  • Omni-Tech waterproof breathable membrane blocks precipitation and allows perspiration vapor to escape, so you remain dry inside and out

  • Helmet-compatible adjustable storm hood for weather protection

  • Made in China

  • Omni-Heat thermal reflective system reflects and retains body heat for an average of 20% more warmth
  • Pant connect tabs attach jacket to Columbia pants for increased protection
  • Touch-fasten adjustable cuffs with integrated gaiters
  • Brushed chin guard
  • US shipments only
  • Interchange compatible

A great shell keeps you dry, blocks the wind, and is expertly cut so you can layer underneath. The Columbia Millennium Flash Omni-Heat Shell Ski Jacket does all of this and more. The 4-way stretch fabric allows you to move with ease and it’s treated with Columbia’s Omni-Tech for a superior waterproof and breathability rating. All of the seams are sealed, there’s underarm venting for rapid cooling, and the adjustable storm hood keeps the wind, rain, and snow off of your head. The Millennium Flash is also part of the Interchange system, so any Columbia Interchange compatible insulator will fit perfectly underneath for added warmth on the chilliest of days.

Columbia Sportswear Millennium Flash Shell Jacket Review:

I just got this jacket in size extra large. Unfortunately I am going to have to return it. Would someone please tell Columbia that if you have a size 46 to 49 chest that they better cut the jacket with more room in the arms! This thing has pencil thin arms. It is a shell and once you put on a fleece of any kind underneath it, you have no room to bend at all.
