Columbia Sportswear Parallel Descent Jacket -

Just because your skis leave perfectly parallel tracks doesn't mean your jacket has to follow along. The asymmetrical design on the Columbia Women's Parallel Descent Jacket gives this insulated jacket a distinct aesthetic so you're not in lock-step conformity with the masses. Feminine lines flatter, and the thermal lining exploits your own body heat for extra warmth. No matter how you choose to enjoy winter, the features on this jacket will keep snowboarding bunnies and arctic urban explorers alike warm and happy until the first daffodil blooms.
The OmniTech shell, waterproof zippers, and fully taped seams block wetness without creating a portable sauna. While weather stays out, this fabric breathes, meaning excess body heat goes out. Techy textiles plus underarm vents keeps you comfy if you're hoofing across town for the opening night gala or breaking trail for your kids. When polar bears refuse to come out, the OmniHeat thermal reflective microtex keeps you snuggly warm by sending emitted body heat right back at your core. OmniHeat insulation blends recycled polyester with regular polyester so you can be green without having clashing blue lips.
Thumbholes keep the sleeves down whether you're wearing mittens or going bare-handed. The adjustable hem lets you seal cold and snow out, or keep things a little breezy when solar heat reaches your little patch of earth. Snap-back powder skirt and adjustable cuffs work together to lock out powder.

Lining and Layers:

  • Omni-Heat™ thermal reflective lining features small silver dots that reflect heat back to your body while dissipating moisture and excess heat to keep you comfortable
  • Omni-Heat thermal-reflective lining helps regulate your temperature with little silver dots by reflecting and retaining the warmth your body generates; allows sweat and excess heat to escape

Fabric:

  • Nylon twill and nylon shell fabric backed by Omni-Tech membrane
  • Partially recycled polyester insulation does an excellent job of keeping you toasty on cold days
  • OmniHeat insulation, recycled polyester blend (80g)
  • Columbia Parallel Descent™ insulated jacket has a drawcord hem, adjustable rip-and-stick cuffs and an adjustable powder skirt to seal out the elements and retain warmth

Hood:

  • Removable, adjustable storm hood; pit zips; thumbholes in the sleeves

Ventilation:

  • Underarm venting to release heat

Weather and Wind:

  • Omni-Tech waterproof, windproof, breathable membrane keeps water out and allows perspiration to escape—you stay dry and comfortable; fully seam sealed to keep moisture out
  • Adjustable, snap-back powder skirt keeps the snow out
  • Omni-Tech® waterproof, breathable nylon shell resists abrasion and breathes well; seams are fully sealed to keep moisture from getting in
  • Includes zippered hand pockets, a waterproof chest pocket, ski pass pocket, media/goggles pocket and an internal security pocket

Comfort:

  • Adjustable outer cuffs lock out the powder; inner comfort cuffs

Columbia Sportswear Parallel Descent Jacket Review:

Reviews:

Nice Jacket. fits small

May be better if a size larger. Seems made to layer, but fits too tight to make layering a reasonable possibility. Seems warm, but didn't get to really try it out, since it was too tight. Arms seem especially tight.
