I've worn it twice and loved it both times. It's a little loose but looks fine - and it is true to size. (I knew the 1X would be too big but got it anyway.) The color (aqua) is great. I didn't realize it when I ordered but it matches the color of my kayak perfectly. I am usually in my canoe so wasn't even thinking about that when I ordered it but I was in my kayak last Saturday and it was exactly the same color!
The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that I had to iron it to get the wrinkles that were originally in it (from the way it was folded). I washed it and dried it thinking that would do it but that did not work. I had to iron it. Now it doesn't seem to wrinkle much.
The shirt is lightweight, packs easily, dries fast and looks good.
Great shirt - stylish and comfortable
I don't really wear plus size shirts but the price was really good when I ordered, I like my shirts kind of big, and, in the past,I have found some Columbia shirts run small. I figured the 1X would fit like an XL. (I normally wear a size 12 shirt). It's a little big but doesn't look stupid and this way I can wear it over another shirt if the weather is cool. Overall I like it very much. The color is pretty - I got the Geyser (aqua), and the fabric is light. The only thing I am not crazy about is that if you don't pull it out of the dryer right away the fabric wrinkles and you have to iron it to get them out (typical polyester problem).
Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a lightweight camp shirt that could be worn sleeves down or up. This shirt fits the bills perfectly. It is not too long or short, it has pockets, and it fits well. Some camp shirts look like a bag with sleeves, but some effort obviously went in to the cut of this shirt. I ordered this shirt in white and wear it with a tank underneath it; I believe it would be a little too sheer to wear by itself. (I have the black version of this shirt as well, and that can be worn by itself.) The shirt is great for travel because it will dry completely overnight if hand washed in a sink.
This is a great shirt!
I wore this shirt on an 8 day backpacking trip. I washed it half way through the trip. It cleaned up pretty well and dried fast. It was comfortable. I was cool and warm when I needed it. It dried fast after a rain shower. It got some rough tugging during the trip and doesn't show any of the wear. I like that I could roll up the sleeves when I needed extra ventilation. When we got back to the car after wearing the shirt for 8 days, it was pretty grubby, but it didn't smell! I wasn't sure how it would launder out, but it came out as clean as new! Whoo hoo!
Planning a trip out to the Rockies and saw these on sale. Ordered 2, just got them, and just ordered a third. They fit perfectly and are really nice colors. I am wide in the waist proportionally and expected them to be too tight since they were fitted but they are not. I have a moderate bust line for my waist and they fit well. If you have a large bustline in comparison to your waist, you may need to go up a size. The sleeves are a tad long but I would rather have that than too short. They snap rather than button. I am very impressed with the fit.
Perfect Outdoor Shirt
I now own 3 of these shirts, they are perfect for any outdoor activity and travel.
They look nice enough that I can wear them when I visit industrial sites for clients.
Great in a wide temperature range (50s-90+) In the heat they feel cooler than most t-shirts, but with are still comfortable if a chill comes on.
I sunburn easily and love that I can roll down the sleeves when my arms are getting too much sun.
The fabric dried very quickly, making it a great candidate when you're spending the day out on the water.
Great travel shirt
I bought this for a trip to Europe where I am trying to only do carryon. It is hard to find plus size, comfortable and reasonably stylish clothes that can easily be washed and dried overnight. This fit everything I needed. I am going to order the other color, but I wish there were more choices than 2. The side zip pockets are great, and I LOVE the stretch built in. I have a similar REI shirt with no stretch and it is much less comfortable... also wrinkles worse.
Great for Utah hiking!
Just returned from vacation in Utah. This shirt proved invaluable protecting me from the sun and keeping me cool. Chose this style because I plan on wearing any time. I only had one issue- sleeves could of been longer, but that is not the shirts fault- I am tall and have long arms, I have to deal with that in all clothing not specifically made for tall women. I am very happy with it.
More than I expected!
I wore this for sun protection in Death Valley and it is fantastic! I never perspired. My only complaint may be some inconsistancy in Columbia's sizing? XL was snug while this 2X was quite large - I should have ordered both a 1X and a 2X to compare but was out of time. I'll wear this as a jacket / sun protection forever! (Despite its light weight, it seems to wear QUITE well)
I just bought this Columbia shirt - they are great for wearing outside to keep from getting sunburned. I use it as a cover up at the pool. I also plan on using it when traveling and when outdoors. I have a Royal Robbins sunblock shirt with similar features which I've owned for over three years, and it's held up. I am hoping that the Columbia will also be durable.
