Old favorite from Columbia

Several years ago I bought the same brand (Columbia) and stype swim trunks from Campmor. I swim every day year round, so they get a lot of wear. I am so pleased with them that I just bought 6 more pairs! The colors and style have been slightly updated, but are basically the same.

Buying these for years

I've worn this brand and style for years. My only complaint is that is hard to find the 6" length and the elastic is not as good as it used to be. I wear these daily since I'm always around water and boats.

I would purchase again

I bought men's for the longer length and am very happy with them. I wear a
Sz 8-10 and men's medium fits well, not too baggy. There's an adjustable belt. Great for kayaking, cycling, throwing on over my bathing suit.

Great Pair of Water Shorts

This is the third pair of these I've bought. I wear them for swimming and kayaking, and they last a couple of seasons of very heavy use. As long as they keep making them, I'll keep buying.

Good shorts but not for the pool

I like these shorts but the included "belt" is elastic and it is impossible to tighten. I almost lost them several times in the pool, just from pushing off the wall.

Good shorts!

Got these shorts for walking at lunch. Pretty long walks in hot weather so I needed something comfortable and easy dry. These shorts fit the bill perfectly.

Happy and content

We use these shorts for kayaking. They are perfect, fit well, wear well, etc. I've yet to be disappointed with a purchase from Campmor.

lightweight easy to wear

nice fit, belt a bit too elastic. Would prefer it had two pockets in the back.

I have numerous pairs of these shorts predecessor. They are extremely comfortable and last forever.

Negative Reviews:

Poor quality and fit

--I own 2 older versions of this same item, one of which was wearing out, so I ordered this as a replacement. Its quality and fit are poor. The elastic waist and belt are weak and insubstantial. When tightened it did not hold, and I am still the same size as when I bought the older ones.
--As for fit, the crotch seemed tight and uncomfortable, and when I measured it against the old ones, it is more than one inch higher.
--Columbia used to make quality items, but they have obviously fallen far.
--I am also not happy about paying shipping both ways for such junk. I wrote everything above on my return form and hoped to be advised that Campmor would reimburse me for both shipping charges; but that hasn't happened, not yet anyway.
--I have been a (small) customer for decades, but will reassess my shopping in the future.

Not as good as the original Whidbey

I wanted to replace my original, super, Whidbey shorts. I ordered the same size (small), but the new shorts are about three inches bigger in the waist. Instead of using elastic to stay snug, it relies on a flimsy belt. The fabric then bunches up around the waist when the belt is tightened. The belt buckle doesn't hold well, so after a bit of movement, the pants become loose. Thus, these water shorts are no good for swimming. The belt loose end dangles unattractively.

Not What They Used to Be

Used to buy these shorts from Campmor all the time. Was so happy to see you still had them. Was so disappointed when received. Looks like elastic waist in picture but not so. Also, very small for a 2XL. Quality and style are still there but no way does it fit. Will continue to search for shorts but not here.

Disappointed that they changed the belt

I bought these shorts last year, and LOVED them! So I bought 3 more pair this year, sadly Columbia has changed the weight and density of the belt, making it very difficult to stay with the present fastener. I would recommend not buying this model of shorts until they change the belt back,

Design is flawed

The built-in belt is all but worthless because the buckle slips almost immediately. but you can't take the belt out and put in your own. I'll have to find a fastener that works and get it sewn int

It's too big and the belt is too long. I've returned the product

no zipper

Thinner than my last pair of Columbia shorts. Only 2 front pockets & 1 rear. Pocket mesh & fabric feel thin. No zipper for when you need to go to the bathroom.
Travis at Campmor on 06/06/2011

strange belt

The belt is hooked to an elastic band that keeps you from tightening the shorts.
