Needed one for each car

My previous version of this coat was just a tad longer and I've loved it for about 10 years. I wish they had kept them that length. This 1X was not in the local store. It is cut just a bit fuller in the shoulders and abdomen than the XL, more like the previous version and allows wearing it over a fleece. I'm a size 14 and this is perfect. My old one is still going strong, but I like it so well I wanted to keep one in each car. Great coat for the money.

Wind and waterproof.

Crusie ship decks by the Alaskan glaciers can be cold and windy. Jacket over layers was perfect to keep the wind away and stay warm. Downpours in Seattle were kept at bay as this jacket is waterproof. The jacket is not vented, so it may be a little too warm in rainy weather. I got a larger size so that I could layer clothing under the jacket. I can fit my life vest under the jacket while canoeing in the rain.

Rain proof jacket

Used this jacket walking around Washington, DC on a cool rainy day. It shook out well upon entering each location. Kept me nice and dry. The pockets zip shut to protect my camera and phone. The jacket is too air tight to wear in warmer weather, but will be perfect on a trip to Alaska this summer.
If a heavy sweater will be worn underneath this jacket, buy a larger size.

A Hard To Find Water Proof Rain Jacket

I've been looking for a WATER PROOF Rain Jacket for a long time. They are hard to find as most are Water Resistant. This jacket is exactly what I was looking for. I got a 1X and it's a bit tight in the hips but not available in a 2X. I like it enough to keep it, especially as I've discovered they've discontinued this jacket.

All around great jacket

I live in Oregon and this is the perfect year round jacket! It's great for the rain and the wind and provides a little warmth especially when layered! It's super light weight and I can pack it anywhere. I love that the hood has a little bit of a bill for extra shelter from a rain.

Pre-trip Purchase

I used this product on a trip to Ireland. It didn't rain as much as expected but it rained enough. The jacket kept me dry and warm. With the hood and collar closed, it provided good wind protection. It was nice to get this jacket in a large woman's size. I'm tired of wearing men's jackets.

Great product--with one exception

I love this jacket and would buy another if the zipper were heavier. It tends to jam easily because it's a nylon rather than metal zipper. Other than that, it performs as described and can be used as an outer shell over a fleece jacket for real warmth as well as weatherproofing.

Great jacket

I bought this jacket specifically for a trip to Israel. It worked well the day it rained but it will not keep you warm. Also... If you wear it while hiking and perspire, it does not breath well. Once I learned the limitations and advantages, it was great.

I have to say my jacket is perfect!

I purchased the jacket for our wet weather and I have to say it is competly waterproof and windproof.
The only problem I have is that the sleeves are a little too long for me, or maybe my arms are a little too short!

She loves it

I bought this jacket for my mother and she loves it. She always has wanted a rain jacket that works well and this fit the bill. The jacket is not overly heavy and should stand up to her general use.

Negative Reviews:

made for a dwarf!

This coat ran very small and was very boxy in the plus size. If you are very short and very portly, it will fit you. Not all plus size women are built like Mrs Santa Claus. We do have waists and some of us are tall too. If you are tall, avoid it. Sleeves too short also.

Hot, Hot, Hot

As a cagoule for a cool and wet UK summer, this is too bulky to carry round and far too hot.
It does not breathe.

It looks smart and does not wrinkle badly when rolled.

Would not consider this fabric without the features of a dual zipper and zip pitts.

Too small

The jacket was very attractive but is too small.
I can't wear it.

Neutral Reviews:

Looks Nice and Fits Good

This is a casual jacket to wear during the rainy days to and from your car. It's not a jacket you could rely on going hiking, as other reviewers have mentioned, it does not breath well. It's very light weight too. It fits good and looks nice, but that's about it.

Runs Very Small

I really wanted to love this rain jacket. Color, quality, etc. was great. I ordered my normal size, but unfortunately it ran so small that I had to return it. It never would have fit over a sweater for colder, rainy days.
