Nice Canoeing Pants

These are very nice paddling pants; my son and I tested them for a week in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. They're durable, lightweight, quick dry and have a nice fit. I also like the elastic waist and drawstring; no need to use a belt. However, I am not a fan of the mesh liner; I wouldn't spend all day paddling without my performance boxer-briefs on, and the liner made things a little crowded. With the liner, they are basically swim pants with removable legs. If you were on vacation at the beach and wanted to hit the town in long pants after a dip, these would be perfect. However, I plan on removing the mesh before my next trip where I am primarily on the water, and not in it.

Aruba IV pants

Having owned several pairs of different brands of these pants that I use when kayaking, I would say that these rate right up there with the others. Getting them on sale was a plus! The material is a little heavier than other brands, which I prefer. Very roomy pockets as well. 5 stars for this item!!!

Functional, useful and comfortable

Simply good, useful product at a great price. Used the pants when hiking and rafting. The pockets are well-placed and secure. Recommend it above more expensive brands.

Sadly, my pants got left behind by accident when repacking in Denali National Park. Hope someone gets good use from them.

Great for when the bugs come out

Whether the bugs are biting in the morning or afternoon, you are protected by the long pants and quickly become shorts for the water.

Negative Reviews:

I returned them

There was no indication in the picture, nor in the description that the pants have no zipper fly. If you're on a hike and you have to go, you'd need to disrobe to do so -- not good!
Catalog shopper at Campmor on 06/06/2013

No Fly??!!

Well-made, but the absence of a zipper fly is a serious design flaw.

Not User Friendly

Excellent service and delivery

Neutral Reviews:

No fly!

I returned these pants because they had no fly and an uncomfortable looking mesh brief liner. Picture boxer style bathing trunks with zip-on legs. This is a special-use item, perhaps perfect for some, but not for the general use that I had planned for them.
bobjbkln at Campmor on 09/09/2013

No Fly!

I focused on length and waist and failed to note that the pants had a mesh brief and therefore no zippered fly.
