Positive Reviews:

Pleasantly surprised

My favorite use for these shorts was at a park where I was biking on their trails and then swimming in the creek. The shorts were flexible enough to not encumber my legs when biking and light enough to dry easily after swimming in the creek with my kids.

I got these to satisfy my wife's request to have nicer looking shorts, but they ended up really satisfying my desire for some more versatile shorts!

I did have an issue with the back pocket stitching coming loose. As has always been the case however, I took them back to the store and they exchanged them without pause.

As for the fit, you should expect them fit like the measurements indicate.

Work as advertised

They work exactly the way shorts should work. They look smarter than the typical hiking shorts, so you don't look all douchey if you wear them out in town. They are unbelievably light and airy, so it feels like you forgot to put on pants, which is always invigorating for the soul. They dry with one or two good gusts of wind, so no complaints there. I've only had them for a couple months, so I can't make any claims for long-term wear, but they look good as new so far, despite lots of wear and at least a couple washings. Nothing at all to complain about up to this point.

Almost All Good

The biggest reservation I have about these shorts is the static electricity. If I have my iPhone in my pocket while listening with headphones, I get small shocks and a crackling noise. Otherwise, they are great shorts, the best feature being their light weight. The zipper on the cargo pocket is also of high quality. The stitching on the inside of the left pocket is somewhat questionable, although it remains to be seen how well it holds up to use.

I bought every color I could find

I always have trouble the most expensive to the least priced shorts fitting properly. I find my quads are always being restricted by almost all shorts. I tried these on and thought I died and went to heaven.

Quality and Comfort

Nice pair of light-weight shorts. Good quality material and construction. Bought them for wrinkle free travel but wear them often. The zippered leg pocket is good for wallet but more zips would have been even better.

Neutral Reviews:

Like these shorts except for one thing

I like everything about these shorts = fit, comfort, length, stretch; but unfortunately, the two side pockets are too shallow. When I sit down things fall out. On several occasions i looked down and saw my dollar bills half exposed.
Note: I don't have the plaid version, I own the solid grill model.
