Great shants!

You get what you pay for with these types of pants. For years I wore the off-brand shants from the clearance rack at my local sporting goods store and am kicking myself for not buying these sooner. They are comfortable, the legs zip off easily, are fairly warm even during the sub-freezing temps in the NE (note: I am NOT claiming these are cold weather pants), and are fairly water proof (small amounts of water will bead on the material).

Good pants

Nice pants. Like the cotton/nylon blend.
But be careful with sizing. I wear an 40x32 jeans and usually order similar in pants like this or XXL when thats the sizing technique. In other Columbia pants, that works, as well as with other brands. i ordered xxl and they are very large. XL would be more than big enough.

zip off pants

zip off panta are great for transitional seasons. Since I ride recumbent bikes noneed for padding so these will be great. Ended up with pants with a waist a bit too big, but got the length correct. I wish they would list waist and inseam.

Good, but not warm

At 5'9" and wearing a 32" inseam, I find some zip-offs have the zipper right on my knee. These are comfortably above.

Since it is winter, I've not yet put these to a wear test on brushy trails.

Now, that' what I'm talkin' about!

I'm planning to use them this summer for a rafting/hiking trip on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and a bicycle trip through the Rhine Valley in Germany.

Fine pants for the money

These are good pants for the damp climate where I live. Quick-dying and comfy.

Size runs big

Pants are lightweight but run very big. All my pants are 34 in waist but these feel like a 36 or 38, almost unwearable. Too cheap to send back.
